Craigslist might have an old dreadnaught for $50. I'm a luthier and usually post beater guitars on there for $40-65. Sometimes the Chinese green stuff is warped. I recommend setting it up again and replacing anything plastic with something better - at least composite. Get decent strings. I'd recommend Ernie Ball for a beginner. Be prepared to have callouses at first. Have a counter brace (tennis elbow brace) on hand if you really get into it because rubbing your bones together to get the right sound can hurt at first.
