Airbus is well built and have survived some odd and onerous landings.

That doesn't look like a crash. It looks like the pilot made an emergency landing in a field. But, it's good that everyone is okay and they can fix the problem with the plane and it will very likely fly again.

Kudos to the pilots for finding a large and flat farming field. I guess it’s a pretty rural area. Also it was during the day. They were lucky it wasn’t dark.

Airbus said...it had stopped sending spare parts to Russia and supporting Russian airlines, but was analysing whether its Moscow engineering centre could keep providing services to local customers under Western sanctions.

Russian airlines have been attempting to substitute sanctioned Western aircraft parts with components of dubious quality and reliability from India and China. However, as this incident shows, access to technical support from aircraft manufacturers is harder to replace.

You don't see that a lot...well done. Only one I can think of on soft grass like that was taca where they landed on a levee in new orleans and everybody lived.

TAM airlines had two field landings in the same day with their Fokker 100 back in 2002. Also no fatalities.

That happens when you don't do proper inspections, don't have parts to replace or use cheap Chinese parts because you can't get the Airbus hydraulic components.
