been UNTHINKABLE, and the police would have
beaten the employee senseless with their
billy clubs, thrown him in the back of their
paddy wagon, and he would have awakened in his
jail cell.

It is criminal fraud. If Spectrum doesn't get their equipment back they can then charge the leaving customer/ex-customer a huge fee.

I am so glad I live where I live. Spectrum way overcharges, but they are always polite. I've never had trouble with returning bad equipment or getting upgraded equipment.

On the whole people here are very nice and friendly.

That was insane, the store employee flung all of that equipment onto the ground breaking it. I will wager the customer has a solid lawsuit.

No, the equipment or at least some of it was not working correctly, probably the DVR, these thing are rented out time and time again to numerous customers and they don't hold up over time, Charter doesn't actually repair or service them and just send them out to new customers broken or not working correctly. I've had that happen to me.

Things got really bad when the previous CEO took over back in the early 2010s, his name was Tom Rutledge and what a jackass. He got rid of loyalty and retention departments where it was possible to keep your pricing from becoming
outrageous. You either paid the increasing prices or dropped their service. I wasn't being soaked so I told Charter to get stuffed after he took over and never returned. I'll never forget the weird look on the employee's faces when I showed up in their office with the equipment to return, they did NOT want to accept it, and when they did they tried not to give me a paper receipt so I could prove they got the equipment back, the staff were obnoxious and beyond rude too. Never Charter again.

Spectrum is expensive AF

You get a decent special introductory price at first, but when that's over the price goes wayy up.

Very fast internet speeds though.

Having a technician check the equipment and offer the customer 10 minutes of tutoring on how to set it up properly, would have been the right way to have dealt with that situation.

The fact the video has now gone viral, makes spectrum look like a fly-by-night business best avoided at all cost.
