Woman gets stuck in Michigan outhouse trying to get Apple Watch, police remind public not to climb into toilets

A woman in Michigan was rescued on Tuesday after getting stuck in an outhouse while trying to retrieve her Apple Watch, forcing police to remind people not to climb inside of toilets.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. inside an outhouse bathroom at Dixon Lake, Michigan State Police said Wednesday in a statement.

“The woman was heard yelling for help and told first responders she had dropped her Apple Watch in the toilet. She then lowered herself inside the toilet to retrieve it and could not get out,” state police said.

Conservation officers from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, troopers with the state police Gaylord Post and emergency medical personnel with Otsego County responded to the incident, state police said.

“The toilet was removed, and a strap was used to hoist the woman out to safety,” state police said.

I was taking a piss one time in the middle of the night in an outhouse at my hunting buddy’s family’s cabin, balancing a new mini-mag light on my shoulder. Well, wound up leaning too much and it fell right in the hole, and stayed lit for quite a while afterwards through the trip and turned into the joke of the trip. Although they were expensive at that point, I wasn’t about to go in and get it.

Years later, they had the honey wagon out to pump out the pit, and, when the guy was done he asked my friend, do you want this? And handed him the flashlight in a bag. Apparently there is some kind of trap or filter that will catch objects like that in the honey wagon.

They laughed and my friend said he talked to his brothers and we’re going to make a joke out of giving it to me, but, as you can imagine, it was pretty nasty so they threw it out and told me about it. We all had a great laugh.

Moral of the story, there is a honey wagon looking to receive a new watch in the future!
