I feel your pain & frustration... There's no money for food after rent, gas, ins, utilities, etc.

Fucken Covid gave everyone the green light to raise prices on EVERYTHING.....But your paycheck stayed the same..

Funny, at the pool today I over heard some seniors talking about the price of things going up and it shouldn't be due to supply chain any longer but it's just because of corporate greed.

Plate lunches going up in price. Milk used to be 5.25 but now is 7.35. Gas as well. It sucks how they are on retirement and to think their savings is being burnt up quicker.

Hopefully, Seniors will get another increase next year.
Prices go up, but they don't ever come back down again.
Illinois, I have heard it's much worse in California. Near $5 a gallon for gas. Ouch! I keep praying for a stock market crash. The price of gas goes down when the stock market crashes.

real food and decent real estate has always been expensive. The shit food and disposable products from big corporations has always been artificial low in price. I don't think anyone who works for a large corporation would ever say that they run efficiently. Why can they get away with that? Because of lucrative government handouts, government contacts and crony capitalism when it comes to favorable terms. Once the money gets to Black Rock, it stays in that ecosystem.

its bad, buts its even worse in california, there are a few spots where it isnt nearly as bad but those loops are closing quickly. things dont seem to be easing because the oil market is a disaster. i think it gets worse from here. the other problem is migration, gonna keep inflation from loosening its grip. its not that prices are going to keep skyrocketing, its that they will melt up, and then the layoffs are coming.

a lot of people like the boomer poster here, they think they are real smart but benefitted from interest rates dropping for 40 years, and they benefitted from every passive stock market investor making money that bought and hold. a lot of people who chronologically bought their first house around 2011-12 hit the lottery in a way, some of this is pure luck, although the boomers worked their azzes off no doubt

That is what the globalist commies want you to think. It's just corporate greed. It's inflation. The reason it began with covid is because that is when the fed cranked up the money machines to the trillion dollar mark and started shitting out trillions. They haven't even stopped shitting out trillions today. The assholes lied to the people as they always do and said the US dollar can't hyperinflate, but it already is and now the people are feeling it.

Only the government can cause inflation because only they can create money.

Trust me the entire country is not as fucked as you are with prices.

CA is way overpriced rent and housing wise. Stuff is still expensive though, you have to make compromises.

I have an insanely cheap rent in a city of 730 a month and it only went up 100 since 2019 which isnt bad for this market. It is a small oasis of a safe, nice apartment but most in this area are bad, i just live across from the gates of the rich neighboorhood. If you travel 5 minutes south or north your in a ghetto homeless area.

If you want to live in the burbs its more like 1000-1400 a month rent, which still isnt bad compared to CA but not as cheap as i have it.

Grocery prices are still fairly high but i work in a store so know to look for the deals. people around here are still very price sensitive, and shop mostly at the cheapest places.

It pays to take risks because the system rewards risk takers. If you end up being too conservative it can come back to bite you in the ass.

These are some of the highest inflation adjusted home prices in history so I don't know if it's a good time to buy but they're going to keep inflating forever So eventually if you're young enough you're investment will pan out.

We lived paycheck to paycheck in the early years of our lives. If i had money after rent and food, i got to ride the bus, if not it was the 10 speed.

Now as a boomer, i live paycheck to paycheck but the house is paid off. So i don't care. I worked and saved for this.

At this moment Social Security cola after September readings was estimated to be 3.2% for upcoming January increase. One more reading by mid October will come out and they will announce what the official cola increase will be. Invariably it will be low3% area.

Assuming 3.2% that translates to buying $5.42 worth of milk that was $5.25. Long long long way away from the $7.35 figure you quote.
