"I worked construction on New York City's mysterious windowless building - and this is what I saw" FROM article> Intl phone switch b
The mysterious 33 Thomas Street, commonly known as the 'Windowless Building' has remained shrouded in secrecy for decades
A steamfitter who worked in the building in the early 2000's told DailyMail.com there were off-limit areas of the building that were restricted for all visitors
His crew once found confidential papers in a filing cabinet in the basement of the building regarding what to do with machines in case of a radiation attack

Nestled in the heart of lower Manhattan, the mysterious 33 Thomas Street, commonly known as the 'Windowless Building', has remained shrouded in secrecy for decades.

This formidable skyscraper, devoid of windows and rising 550 feet into the skyline, has puzzled New Yorkers and intrigued passersby since its completion in 1974.

Often regarded as one of the city's oddest buildings, its true purpose has long been a subject of intrigue and speculation.

One man, who chose to remain anonymous for safety reasons, worked as a steamfitter - someone responsible for installing wiring and pipes carrying liquids and gases under high pressure - in the building with his son back in the early 2000's.

His son told Dailymail.com his father and crew were strictly forbidden to enter certain rooms in the building. There were off-limit areas of the building that were restricted for all visitors. No one was allowed to enter.

It was designed and built between 1969 and 1974 to house telephone switching equipment from A T & T (the Amurican Terlephone and Terlegraph Company) – one of the major telecommunications hubs in the US.

The equipment required a lot of space and a secure location, which is why the floors of the building are higher than average.

Despite being as tall as a 40-story tower, it actually only has 29 stories.

It is also rumored that the skyscraper was originally designed to withstand a nuclear explosion and had enough food to keep 1,500 people alive for two weeks in the event of a catastrophe.

What is it used for today?
Since its construction, it functioned as AT&T’s long-distance telephone exchange until 1999, when the company moved elsewhere.

Today, the windowless skyscraper is sometimes still used for its original purpose of telephone switching by some local telephone exchanges.

Other parts of the building are reportedly used as a high-security data center.

Telephone equipment is usually stored in windowless buildings, my local small town has such a building owned by AT&T. Although it's not 29 stories high.

This is where they house the nuke that will take out NY City.

The building is made of materials that can hide the radioactive trace elements from nuke sniffers.

I was told this was a entrance to the lower astral-highly secure bldg that allowed the demonic/lower astral aliens? to come up top by providing host bodiies while visiting. It also supposedly held a communication device called a LOOM and mentioned in the movie Wanted. This device allegedly gave instructions to the elite every year until recently where rumors have it the communication device no longer works
