Tesla Cybertruck seen driving around Malibu looks dumber than expected

Tesla's Cybertruck debuted a new matte black wrap over the weekend, adding to the color schemes it has been spotted in.

According to Inside EVs, it was being driven around southern California by the company's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen.

You wouldn't pay $90 grand for it? Why not? I will drive about 80,000 miles before you throw it away because the cost of a replacement battery will exceed the residual.

I'd rather have a 'basic plus' one of these...

If you understand the construction of the truck it will become more amazing to you.
There is no frame with a waste of space body for airflow, like all U.S. trucks

the body is the frame

because of that, it cant be curved and twisted. It gets some basic bends and that's it.
Maybe in the future the auto technology will improve that.

For now we are witnessing a milestone improvement in the pick-up truck industry

Ignore the electric part, that shit sucks

but the frame... watch a video on the research and development... mind blowing.
I know a thing or two, because I've seen a thing or two.

I'm sure with options, it will be twice the 'base price', and the base model will be the unicorn you can never find at the Tesla dealership:

The base model of the Cybertruck is set to start at $39,000

I heard it's litterally for beta phags only and they physically check whether your butthole has been stretched before being able to buy this model.

I'll pass.

It might look better jacked up in the back with some center lines and beefy tires......

This x 1000. That thing doesn't even have a usable bed.

I still remember the first time I saw a Pontiac Aztek. I was sitting at a red light in my truck and took a drink of coffee.

Some lady was making a left turn across the intersection in her new Aztek.

I laughed so hard I spat coffee all over my dash and lap.
What the Hell?...

"the body is the frame" you just described a unibody, the way almost all cars are made now. How is this different.

But in an EV there's a large heavy rigid battery pack low in the middle. In some Teslas that's made of cast iron, maybe even cheap and light and brittle pot metal. I'd assume there's bracing off of that, or did they not do that with the Cybertruck?

They're doing a refresh of the Model 3 at the end of 2023. Is this the replacement?
