Tim Burton Probes Dark Shadows Quoting: UnforgivenLeave it to director Tim Burton to put the creepiest possible spin on cheeseball mid-century soap opera Dark Shadows. The daytime drama, which hypnotized TV viewers between 1966 and 1971 with story lines peopled by zombies, vampires and warlocks, is being adapted for the big screen by frequent Burton collaborator John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish). August is bouncing back and forth between Shadows and Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam. According to IESB.net's interview with Get Smart director Peter Segal, who is set to helm Shazam, August is writing Dark Shadows for Burton. So, will Johnny Depp play alpha vampire Barnabas Collins? No word yet. But he previously investigated Headless Horseman decapitations in Burton's Sleepy Hollow and cut throats with relish in their most recent collaboration, Sweeney Todd, so we're thinking Depp should be able to sink his teeth into Dark Shadows, no problem. from wikipedia "Dark Shadows was distinguished by its vividly melodramatic performances, atmospheric interiors, memorable story lines and an unusually adventurous music score. Now regarded as somewhat of a camp classic, it continues to enjoy intense cult status among its followers. Director Tim Burton and pop icon Madonna have both gone on record as fans of the series. As a child Johnny Depp was so obsessed with Barnabas Collins that he wanted to be him" So things look good for Depp playing the role!! "From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17 |

Dispositioner User ID: 441186 United States 06/03/2008 01:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tim Burton is such a tool. He's way too obsessed with "dark" gothic bullshit. Is he capable of doing virtually anything else, other than "vampire" undead zombie gothic nonsense with "creepy" gothic architecture? Is he not capable of doing anything else?
