Quoting: Anonymous Coward 86501396 One text, however, did predict that Jesus would be born between 6BC and 3AD, by utilizing OT prophesies. Not bad, considering Jesus was born 3BC. To assert that Jesus was not an historical figure requires that all extrabiblical texts about Christ be ignored. Evrn the atheist scholars refuse to do this. They KNOW He was a real person. They simply debate Jesus' divinity. Yep. By a very odd Coincidence the Baigent book The Jesus Deception which I ordered on library interloan arrived yesterday at my local library and I read it last night. Seems there are even more scrolls out there from that period, looted by Bedouin, and owned by private collectors. The originals were split into two collections: one owned in Jordan which had annexed part of Palestine, one owned by Israel. There's a Catholic vs Jew political context there. It's quite likely there was a magic mushroom cult that is part of the basis for Roman Catholicism (how embarrassing) relate to the Dionysus/Bacchus, but no real evidence that it was associated with the Judaism of the time. It must be remembered that this was the era of Gordon Wasson,Carlos Castaneda and the LSD Clowns. And stupid hippie New Age cretins like Charlie ManSon and his band of deranged feminists. |

DO you mean in the same way that religious scholars always study the Bible so it SUPPORTS their narrative instead of CHALLENGING it? Okay... got it! |

Source? Is it the same source that claims Jesus went to India and studied under baba-joojoo and the naga serpents? (All lies.) And though you have some things correct…Jesus existed, was crucified, resurrected. Jesus didn’t come here to undo “negative energy.” Jesus became flesh and the sacrifice to undo the fall of Adam. And Mary said YES to God and she undid the fall of Eve. He is the new covenant to save humanity. His sacrifice takes always the sins of the world IF we follow Him. This removed and replaced the necessity of animal sacrifice of the OT. . |

Kind like when you drink a few beers and the world seems friendlier. But if the effects are intense, that's when you might start examining life lessons, and sense that the God conscious if giving you a message about yourself and what you should do. Or, you just had a 🍄 buzz, no more profound than any other inebriated experience, these thoughts are just pre programmed memories. At any rate, I think it is a little bit aphrodisiac, sedative, pain relieving, and sleep inducing. And harmless if you don't drive, climb trees or use power tools. |

Try thinking logically and if you are going to put your faith in anyone...how about the God who created your doubting carcass? You conveniently ignore that fact that Polytheism existed for 3,000 years -and worked quite well- BEFORE Christianity was created. And that during those millennia civilizations did NOT go to war over whose Gods were superior - that only began when a singular God replaced the ancient panoply and thus nations have been fighting to the death over the omnipotence of their sole Diety ever since! You see, the ancients allowed their Gods to duke it out themselves over who was superior among them... and even described lightning and thunder as the Gods battling over details of how mortals should behave, with natural disasters considered to be Godly punishment for transgressions against Olympus. And in our modern world, just guess which nations don't usually feel the need to go to war but rather live in harmony with their bordering countries? That would be those such as Nepal and Tibet -where their ancient Gods are still not a source of aggression and disputes are territorial in nature- just as they were in ancient Egypt, Athens and Rome. |
