If the mounting falls downward or anything in the air reflects even a sliver of those beams for a fraction of a second, it's going to result in permanent eye injuries or even irreversible blindness. I presume the point of this display is to counteract "highway hypnosis" which results from the brain of a driver being entrained by the periodic "flashing" of the dashed lane lines of the highway at high speed, but wouldn't there be a safer way to do this? You could just have bright non-coherent LEDs blinking at an irregular frequency, preventing the brain from focusing on the periodic pattern and falling into hypnosis.
