That actually makes a lot of sense. There are plenty of worthless work shy Americans that TPTB would probably love to eliminate and as an Américan myself living in Colombia I have a bit of insight into who's sneaking into the US.

It's criminals and work shy losers with their hand out. The normal Venezuelans that want a normal life can come here legally where we speak the same language and everything works the same way, get a work permit and work like a normal person.

Ran into hard times in Venezuela just move to Colombia and pick up where you left off. Today's Venezuela was once part of Gran Colombia so it's not really even like moving to a different country or culture. I hired one in July, great guy, honest and hard working as the majority are. There are a few that struggle some and will beg outside of the supermarket but they're very polite and gracious.

The ones flooding the borders are too lazy to take one of the many jobs available here and/or hardened criminals.

Sheesh - I dunno.....I'm in the San Francisco Bay area - so tempted to snoop around and find out what's going on.

I fade into the background - due my to age and "coloring" - so might go - (and report my findings to GLP).

It's so dangerous to go to SF now, I bring a "decoy" bag (fake money and a "what me worry" ID) - I've also tossed coins on the ground - crazy, but it works...pepper spray can backfire - "avoiding conflict" is is the best defense / take it from someone who knows.

My husband refuses to go to SF now as he gets hassled (dispite being 6'2").

well, I have ended up homeless without a car finally just in time for freezing to death temperatures.

the cops told me to go to homeless shelter 30 miles away in the city, because they towed my car.

so I spent all night walking in the cold, I could not stop, if i stopped the cold became unbearable so i kept walking to my feet/legs fell apart.


I stopped at 3rd Phase shelter that advertises 'emergency shelter' was they tell you flat out' you can't stay there, but i'm sure they get lots of donations for advertising they help people ever christian church door is CLOSED to leave you to DIE in the cold. but there is one shelter that helped me for next 10 days so what can I say? I suppose it's the same shitty choice they give you between living and dying
