In desert areas the entire sky is often totally red at sunset. This is due to the dust in the air. So ask, "What was in the air that hasn't been there before?"

Red in the sky can be iron oxide - it would be interesting to know if you've gotten any red dust coating your cars or your lawn furniture in recent days.

Nope haven't seen any red dust, or an accumulation of it outside. Dust has been crazy inside my home lately. Having to clean every week is a must or it gets way to dusty.

Over here in Indiana. Have seen several lightish red skies at nighttime, & darker red hues over Indpls. Even seen red hues in rural areas. Never seen stuff like this around here. Been here 36 years, very scary. Blue is oxygen rich, red I am told is full of pollution, not sure what kind though. Be safe God bless from Indiana.

Great pics, OP. I have seen red skies like that over Lake Michigan (clean air) and it made the water look luminous torquoise (sp). I think it has to do with clouds and water vapors.
