Re: Keurig with refillable cup or French press?
the press makes great coffee.. gives you full control (especially if youre grinding it too...)

but they are a drag to clean. you cant just rinse the grounds into your sink...

and they are fragile. i still have (most) of my french rig.. i say most because the 2nd time i broke the glass i said screw this.

K-cups are REALLY convenient and tend to taste like hot plastic.

in my midwestern usa market you can buy "camerons" brand eco k-cups with a lot less plastic.. they bio degrade and taste GREAT.

if you are willing to get spendy...

NESPRESSO totally rules. BUT you gotta buy the coffee pods through the mail! and if youre willing to have 3 or 4 a day (i want like 9 or 10) then youre spending starbucks level cash in your own kitchen!

last option....

reusable k-cup.

my main rig atm is a regular pot on 1 side and a Kcup on the other.... it came with an INSERT that is a reusable mini filter!
so you can fill that, load it, and brew a cup without all the extra plastic trash...

Cold brewed is the best, Aero press is second best.

If you like the option of strong coffee use a French press, if prefer weaker coffee and small cup, get a Keurig. Also with French press it's easier to control temperature of water if you have good electric kettle.

Homemade cold brew is easy and really good too.

A french press will always be superior quality to a Keurig machine. Keurig makes weak bean water, you'll never get the same strength or quality as a classic french press

Agree

K cup is weaker with the same amount of grounds.

No way around that.

Re: Keurig with refillable cup or French press?
I've had both, plus a percolator, and the classic Mr. Coffee maker...

I found the best cup for me is pour over. I have a nice little electric kettle that heats up in like 2 minutes. Pour over allows for total control. It allows you to control the temperature of the water, the speed at which it goes into the grounds, the amount of time it brews and how much it makes.

Coffee enthusiasts tend to prefer this method because it allows them to control the taste, texture, temperature and strength of the brew.

Yeah, I used to do pourovers, too.

I think I still prefer the French Press.

I'll have to compare them again.

Both. Keurig for quick pickups. French press for a better cup and a second cup potentially.

Re: Keurig with refillable cup or French press?
Tried them all, Aero was the worst for me.
FP makes good coffee, but too much trouble.
KCups are really convenient, but isn't very good coffee.
Peculator makes really good coffee, but are a hassle to clean.
Instant is easy mode, and a little better than kcup, but not great.

Best overall is MrCoffee. Easy to clean, easy everything, and a decent cup of coffee.
Providing you use a good brand like Yuban.

I love my French press; I toss the grounds in the garden or feed my worm farm with them.
