Any system of thought...
...whether it is a religion or a political ideology such as communism, that requires me to believe every one of its tenets...no matter how illogical or patently absurd it may be...I consider a prison for the human mind.

you’re trapped in the illusion that you have free will, which in itself is a system of thought with absolutes abundant, and you reject the fact that you don’t because of the collateral damage that would be done to your worldview if you accepted that - you don’t

Systems of thought are interesting. I am of the opinion that any system of thought is like a container, a vessel, like a vase for example. Some vessels are more to your liking, from the outside and the inside, others make you uneasy. It all serves to show you how your energy is, your luminous body if you will, who you really are.. or soma such

If you live in the USA and eat or drink processed food items, or eat at restaurants, you don't have free will and are in mental prison. It's designed that way.verysad

Some are more of a straight jacket than others.

Some more like a loose comfortable fitting set of clothes.

The more totalizing the less free.

Some are way too restrictive of the spirit.

You can't really be yourself if you are trying to fit yourself into a political ideology or religious dogma.

Whereas in twentieth and twenty-first century America I was usually able to avoid Communists in day to day life, it was not always so easy to avoid religious zealots.

Religious fundies and Communists have more in common though than either group thinks.

"I wander thro' each charter'd street,

Near where the charter'd Thames does flow.

And mark in every face I meet

Marks of weakness, marks of woe.

In every cry of every Man,

In every Infants cry of fear,

In every voice: in every ban,

The mind-forg'd manacles I hear..."
