It's simple. We uh, say that Fight Club is about the destruction of society because the destruction of the mind comes first.

It's simple. We uh, say that Fight Club is about the destruction of society because the destruction of the mind comes first.
The revelation hits the narrator that he forgets things, only to forget that he was chipped by the Mafia, has a handler named Tyler Durden, and sold out to repeat his subconscious over and over to see the city destroyed over and over, this hitting him that giving into this aspect of an ill society will result in something bad, or at least it's a feeling he has.

This is why the narrator had the TRUE revelation that the countdown was on him AND Tyler, so he decided to put a gun in his mouth.

He was never mentally ill. He always knew exactly what he was doing. That's why that movie was so scary when it came out. I knew exactly the effect it would have way back then.

That movie originally had a different ending.

They were forced to change it.

You know China also had another ending created just for their country for that movie.

Bro, look at the last two towers to go. They're the same size, they're like twin towers.

This is about the human condition and how 9-11-2001 has more to do with it than you think.

It's continually thrilling the sick ones having their subconscious repeated who had front row seats (I theorize, gotta say) and continually saddening and depressing most of us who have to live with the memory of it.

People didn't listen when I said the author was a fascist way back then. I also knew he was almost certainly a queer. The two go together way too often. Anyway, I missed out on the 90s as the best decade America had to offer because of Oprah and I saw that movie as a reaction to the the sort of women she inspired having made your average man sick. The maga people are kind of deserved at this point, and I wish it would have gone otherwise.

Tyler Durden lied to the narrator about the 'same person' aspect - so in a sense, you might be right in that, because they AREN'T the same person, that they have their own capable, individual minds - and they do.

Where and why I disagree is because we never, and I mean ever, see the narrator completely lose his shit in a BIG way, as all of those so-called 'revelations', especially Tyler putting the idea of him being on top of the building and Project Mayhem repelling down in his head, BUT.....you cannot tell me by allowing a toxic person into your life you 'Know what you are doing'.

This would be like someone telling me "You know exactly what you're doing, you're in complete control" regarding my situation as a targeted individual.

I was in my differential equations class in college when the actuarial sciences guy came around looking for candidates in the field. This is the job the narrator has at the beginning of the movie. He was a soulless asshole and absolutely knew what he was about. The job didn't become meaningless; it was no longer a STATUS SYMBOL. He wanted to be better than other people, the job no longer represented that (like the world portrayed in 'Mad Men') and that's why he hatched a plan that in the real world would have resulted in human extinction.

It's story about a particular kind of white guy, like the one in Falling Down, and the author being a queer, as I said, added a little something something because he stupidly decided to eroticize it. That was the whole risk of letting them into the civil rights shit. They acted just like he did when he went to volunteer--he slept better because he was finally BETTER THAN SOMEONE ELSE.

Did you see the banker's boxes at the house on Paper Street? The narrator never stopped being a suit the whole fucking time. Tyler is just his ad campaign, a particularly successful branding. I saw that movie for the danger it was all the way back in the 90s, as I said. But if it takes a fucking Nazi to get rid of Oprah, the Unsinkable Molly Brown, and all the other narcissistic mother shit that was proliferating back then, so be it. It's not really inspiring though.
