Re: 80 years since Russia broke the Germans' siege of Leningrad.
Is Germany really ready for war?

The leak by a newspaper of secret plans drawn up by the German government preparing for a potential Russian attack against NATO has sent alarm bells ringing across Europe and beyond. The grim scenario reveals step by step how President Vladimir Putin could escalate the conflict in Ukraine to all-out war in just 18 months. Worryingly, these doomsday predictions come on the back of concerns expressed by several European leaders of just that—a potential conflict between NATO and Russian forces. So, how concerned should we be?

Re: 80 years since Russia broke the Germans' siege of Leningrad.
Leningrad...Saint Petersburg was also besieged by the Germans...

Siege of Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) was one of the worst tragedies in Russian history. It lasted nearly 900 days and resulted in the deaths of more than 1 million civilians, mostly of famine, including Viktor Putin the brother of Vladimir Putin who died before his birth. His mother nearly died during the time when his father was in the hospital, wounded on the battlefield of Nevsky Pyatachok.
The famine was horrible, people recieved just 125 grams of rye bread a day per person for months.
