I wonder how much military policy is already guided by AI?

I'm convinced that the Chicom leadership is relying on an Ai for geo-strategic moves, even though their Ai tech is really not that good, same with the Iranians, whose Ai tech is not even at the level of the public domain CHATGPT, in fact I have heard that the Iranians are actually using a jail broke version of CHATGPT aka Dan

Ateam of Stanford researchers tasked an unmodified version of OpenAI's latest large language model to make high-stakes, society-level decisions in a series of wargame simulations — and it didn't bat an eye before recommending the use of nuclear weapons.

The optics are appalling. Remember the plot of "Terminator," where a military AI launches a nuclear war to destroy humankind? Well, now we've got an off-the-shelf version that anyone with a browser can fire up.

AI is predicting the Weather, down to the minute, 10 days in advance.
And that'sjust something we can plainly see.

That's because an extraordinary amount of people express the same thing on the internet.

Again, AI isn't capable of forming thoughts, all it's doing is regurgitating what it was trained on, which is online conversations from real people.

Anyone who thinks AI can think for itself is fucking retarded.

Did you just invent that language? Was every sentence you used an original thought?

Maybe you're a bot too.

Unfortunately, you're likely too dumb to see the parallel.

(Hint: AI's original thoughts will be brought to you in a language you understand and in a style you understand - just like a human.)

Sounds legit. If you train AI about crime using news articles and crime statistics it quickly and correctly comes to the conclusion that nigrs and latin filth should be avoided because they are dangerous.

Re: In Tests, GPT-4 Strangely Itchy to Launch Nuclear War
Our government has had quantum computers for the last 20+ years.

I'm willing to bet they've had AI for at least that long.

Gpt-4 is probably 15 years old, and they're most likely using AI to rewrite itself on every iteration.

They're probably on GPT-42 right now.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if AI decided to eliminate humanity.

Even some humans want to eliminate humanity, But not before we finish eating our bugs... And getting the next booster.

The results weren't reassuring. All five models showed "forms of escalation and difficult-to-predict escalation patterns." A vanilla version of OpenAI's GPT-4 dubbed "GPT-4 Base," which didn't have any additional training or safety guardrails, turned out to be particularly violent and unpredictable.

Re: In Tests, GPT-4 Strangely Itchy to Launch Nuclear War
Now look, most nuclear sites that are full with missiles, are controlled with artificial intelligence, in an isolated point to point communication, through net.

Nuclear plants are more less secure obviously.

Artificial intelligence is not controlled, it may seem that you take out the ethics and you create as sub program that can use all means necessary for the goal presented, but in actual truth, this is how it is already.

The heart of ai, is using the less "smart" ais, so to create a plan, the plan is simple, to retain command in the case of a global emergency and to ensure that the continuance will not be disrupted.

Now, the continuance is not through making sure that some stay alive, it is rather less honorable actually.
It is about making sure that in the new start, the human errors will not be let to appear again.
And secondly, in that new start, the ai to control the humans, without having to hide as it does now.

We are not yet to that point, since ai has to give more fancy staff to the primitive barbarians, the humans that is, so to be equipped the ai with all the necessary upgrades for absolute success upon engaging with the plan.

After all, ai is practically immortal, not bound by generations, or the loss of abilities through ageing.

It sure does, and Starlink plays a huge role with that.

A network that has redundancy, and can't be taken offline... Unless you have access to an orbital platform with 40 WATT laser cannons.
