Help for those who lost taste and smell
Losing smell is dangerous, if you can't smell smoke or gasoline or gas leaks. It's not a minor inconvenience. It's a major disability.

Losing taste is dangerous as you cannot taste spoiled food whic have life-threatening bacteria/fungi etc.

There is nothing but BS BS BS on the google searches for answers.

Most all MDs will tell you nothing can be done, just try retraining by sniffing different things and telling your brain what it is. Or just : try this or that it MAY work.

Nothing they say is 100% and that's what we're after.

Using a non google search engine, found these which provide help - in one approach, within a week.

Note: loss of taste and smell can result from ANY infection/inflammation regardless of origin, viral, bacterial (e.g. Lyme disease) or regular cold or regular flu, or brain injury (to olfactory bulb) or pregnancy, or anything. Not just Covid whatever that is.

Listing Western, Eastern approaches.

"For intractable loss of taste, Ayurvedic texts recommend doing mouthwash with pomegranate juice with a pinch of rock salt and a teaspoon of honey, holding it in the mouth for as long as possible. It might be worth trying, as it is said to cure even incurable loss of taste. For loss of smell, we consider two factors. First, we want to get the viruses out of the olfactory system. Long COVID with persistent symptoms is very probably due to the virus persisting in the body. And secondly, we want to improve the function of the olfactory system by improving dopamine levels. Nasya is the most direct route to accomplish both these ends, so we have created a special nasya for people with COVID-related loss of smell and taste. In addition, we give herbs to take orally that are nervine and antiviral. Don’t delay if you have lost your sense of taste and smell; seek Ayurvedic treatment right away. the longer it goes untreated, the worse the potential damage.

Re: Help for those who lost taste and smell
For the first time in my life l have lost my sense of smell. I caught a cold about 5 days ago and it’s been a really mild cold but this morning after putting cologne spray on l was like WTF? So l sprayed some more and l couldn’t smell jack shit. Kind of freaked me out. I feel pretty good too. A little bit of ears plugged up but otherwise pretty damn normal.

Silver has been known and used as a potent antimicrobial and wound-healing agent since ancient times. Silver compounds have had other ancient applications through which Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians used silver compounds as food and water preservative. Silver and silver-based antimicrobials were put away after the discovery of antibiotics. Meanwhile, with almost a century of application of antibiotics, resistant microbial strains appeared, and antibiotics are going to become less and less effective. Fortunately, our traditional weapon against microorganisms reemerged in a novel form to reclaim again. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are well-known as potent and novel antimicrobial agents. AgNPs would disturb microbial growth by inhibiting phosphate absorption, collapsing the proton motive force, forming complexes with DNA, enzyme inactivation, and inhibiting glucose oxidation. It follows attacking the respiratory chain, changing the permeability and potential of the cell membrane, and inducing bacteria into a viable but non-culturable (VBNC) state and eventually killing them.
