It's like we're all turning into cyborgs or something. Not only are they unsightly and a bit on the creepy side, but I just can't imagine what all of those cell phone waves are doing to people's brains. People walk around sporting these things like they are the newest "bling" or something. Quoting: Lady WolfAnyone else disturbed by this? And now, here in California, there is a new law that is to go into affect come July 1st. that you must use one of these if you're in your car. I understand the safety behind the law and too many people talking on their phones, but how does this do anything to combat the loss of concentration while driving and talking away on our phones?? I just like to see people walking around talking to themselves. HORRIBLE BASTARD. |

I get this at work all the time, I work in guest services for a Hotel, and people will be talking away on these things when they come in and for a split second you think they're saying something to you, and their yacking away on their phone, when your trying to help them out. Some people can be so rude with these things! Real truth is self evident... |

I especially love the guy in ft. of you trying to pay for gas etc at 7-11 who can't figure out what to do because he's having a convo on his phone and didn't hear the cashier, one of my favorites! On the blue tooth, it is quite funny and frankly dorky but my son got one to use only while driving,he's not allowed ot wear it in public at least with me LOL! I work in retail. A month ago, a coworker of mine was stocking shelves when a lady came around the corner screeching "EXCUSE ME? EXCUSE ME?" My coworker got up and faced the woman to ask how he could help her. She screeched at him, "I WASN'T TALKING TO YOU." She was talking on a bluetooth headset. She then proceeded to tell the person on the phone that some stupid employee thought she was talking to him and started laughing hysterically. My coworker just smiled and continued stocking. The lady started wailing again with the 'excuse me'. My coworker had finished stocking and walked back to the storeroom. This lady marched up to the front of the store and complained to the manager that his employee ignored her completely and refused to help her. Luckily, there were other customers in the store that saw what actually happened and told the manager what they saw. In the end, it didn't matter. My coworker still got reprimanded, because we're still supposed to be aware of every circumstance and blah blah fuckinshit blah. The point is, it's not always about getting in someone else's personal business. It's not always about thinking someone is just talking to themselves. Seriously. You can't be off the phone for the relatively few minutes it takes to do some shopping? REALLY? BTW, that coworker doesn't work there anymore, but I still keep in touch with him. He calls that lady up every once in a while from different locations to call her a bitch. |

I use basic etiquette, if a customer approaches me and they are talking on phone or headset I state quite bluntly "When you have finished with your current conversation I will talk to you" followed by "Now how may I help" but thats me :) Personally I prefer Bluetooth as the transmission is low powered and range is down to a few meters so no cell phone wavelenths next to my head If I meet an uptight customer I tell them they are being rude and will not be served at which point I promptly tell my manager what has happened either way it is situation dependant i.e. your manager, the customer and yourself If I get a very rude customer I just use blunt truth with no emotion, works for me. |

In her pompous self-important way, she made sure everyone around knew she was the most important person in the world. She's listed in the phone book. Not her cell, her home phone. Yes, he could have asked if she was talking to him or the person on the phone, but if you'd read the post, you'd know that had been tried and he was ridiculed by her for it. The woman comes in fairly often. I don't wait on her. When she needs help, I politely tell her I'll get the manager to help her. Mr. Manager wants to write someone up for something like that, even when he's got other customers telling him what really took place, he can deal with the cunt. |

I read the post smartass and maybe it is a good thing he don't work there anymore. You work in a customer service job where you are there to stock and to answer customer questions and if you can't handle one rude customer then maybe you should look for a job where you don't have to deal with people directly. You just suck it up and deal with it and chalk it up to this person is a asshole and i won't let them bother me. You are there for them not they there for you!!!!! |
