USE YOUR BRAIN...PLEASE... Big Useless Dogs. Sell things people don't need and can't afford now that their credit line has been lowered. Good. The small business owner (with low overhead) can take up the slack. Will be a boon for those who sell specialty products on the internet. Excellent! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 457101THINK! THINK! USE YOUR BRAIN...PLEASE... Well, not always. I live in a small town. The local grocery store is about 3 blocks from my home. I've started buying more (in fact, almost ALL) my groceries there, as well as things like toothpaste, hair spray, etc. simply because it is close and gasoline is expensive. A lot of other people in this area are doing the same thing. And, perhaps not suprisingly, the owner is beginning to stock a larger variety of items. He told my husband that his business was really up over last year. |

With gas prices the way they are, I shop at the local grocery store now and just buy what's on sale. If you add in gas to the total, it's much cheaper than Walmart or a chain grocery. Also, the manager will stock whatever you ask him to. |

Usually, things that are cost prohibitive at the grocery can be found at the dollar stores, and vice versa. |
