You aren't getting it. Jon Stewart sold his home to a buyer who was willing to pay the amount he was asking. You can ask for any amount of money for something you are selling people don't have to buy it. But they did.

Trump inflated his properties values to get loans and then deflated them when tax time came around. He also got loans and then played the bankrupt card over and over again so he did not have to repay the loans or a very small amount. Also any businesses he owned money to did not get paid and have spoken of being put out of business. Trump owed New York plenty. It is a criminal offense.

The banks do their own due diligence, including their own appraisals when they consider lending to a borrower. You can't just TELL a bank how much your property is worth when you want a loan on your property, LMAO
