ER's and their staff (for the most part) are a living nightmare these days.
As a nurse that cares, I refuse to work in them anymore. Emergency medicine was my first love and the entire reason that I went to nursing school in the first place.
I was faulted for giving a pillow to one of my patients not so many months ago. Why? Hmmmmm ... so the patient wouldn't be comfortable ... and, I suppose, because the poor excuse for staff would not have to change the pillow case, once the patient was discharged.
There are exceptions, but they are few and far between. Ditto.
Family has some responsiblity with this, too, though, and they sit on their behinds with $ signs in their eyes contemplating a lawsuit while their loved ones suffer, instead of taking them into their own hands and caring for them like THEY should.
Shame, shame, shame - - all the way around.
We will ALL be held accountable for every action or inaction.
And don't forget:
We often encounter angels, unaware.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Golden rule, quoting Jesus.
Love one another.
