We are looking here at a "globalized" international corporation. Are our people so naieve that they still believe that these are US corporations? A corporation by definition has only one allegiance its stockholders. The stockholders by definition are interested in accumulation of profits leading to increased share price and dividends. When is the last time you heard a stockholder US or otherwise question the morality of a company they owned they just don't thats not part of the profile they are looking at. These companies know this and they also know that they can do anything they want short of setting off a worldwide bru ha ha without any questions being asked. Look at the answer the writer got when talking to the Haliburton person paraphrasing we do all sell all and don't get involved in politics until someone flys an airplane into our headquarters. And even then it would be a momentary distraction until we were fully operative again doing the same thing. There is no mrality here. There is no judgement here. There is no loyalty to country here. There is only business here. Welcome to the globalized world. |

The blackwater boys will be given a chance to join us, and if they don't, we'll hang them for Treason too. |

The only way to handle the situation is to reclaim control of these companies on a national basis and force them to adhere to the laws passed bym us etc.. And if they don't arrest their leaders and throw them in prison alla Enron/Worldcom etc. and deny them access to dealing with the US using its currency communications or anything else associated with the 50 states. They want out lets throw them out. |

Cheney formed an offshore shell company to get around the law. So when you say "force them", we are talking about Halliburton. If it can be proven that Halliburton knowingly sold centrifuges used for the purpose of enriching uranium to possibly build a nuclear weapon, you bet we can put Cheney on trial for Treason against the United States. I think he would be convicted. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 475382 United States 07/29/2008 10:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cheney was the chief executive of Halliburton Corporation at the time he uttered those words. It was Cheney who directed Halliburton toward aggressive business dealings with Iran—in violation of U.S. law—in the mid-1990s, which continued through 2005 and is the reason Iran has the capability to enrich weapons-grade uranium. It was Halliburton’s secret sale of centrifuges to Iran that helped get the uranium enrichment program off the ground, according to a three-year investigation that includes interviews conducted with more than a dozen current and former Halliburton employees. If the U.S. ends up engaged in a war with Iran in the future, Cheney and Halliburton will bear the brunt of the blame. But this shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who has been following Halliburton’s business activities over the past decade. The company has a long, documented history of violating U.S. sanctions and conducting business with so-called rogue nations. No, what’s disturbing about these facts is how little attention it has received from the mainstream media. But the public record speaks for itself, as do the thousands of pages of documents obtained by various federal agencies that show how Halliburton’s business dealings in Iran helped fund terrorist activities there—including the country’s nuclear enrichment program. |
