The crops continue to grow, even after being flattened, so yes, that is what I suggested. If you look at the links I posted above, the plant nodes are bent, not broken, so the plants are not damaged.
Quoting: canislatransObviously there are reasons why crop grows vertically, not horizontally. Not to mention that the actual harvesting does not pick flattened crop, unless you do it by manual labour.
