Since this issue is being discussed in the media I applaud Bristol for having her baby. Many others would not have done so. She is fortunate to have a loving supportive family. The issue of her marrying the father really really concerns me. Maybe they would rather marry and divorce which will undoubtedly happen. I cannot imagine that the chances of such a marriage lasting are very high.My advice to her would be not to marry. She and her boyfriend will feel less pressure that way as they are after all just children themselves. If it is OK to be pregnant at 17 then it should be equlaly OK to not have to feel pressure to marry the father. This family will support her and the baby. There is no doubt of that.Now the most important issue of all is can Sarah deal with all of this in addition to being the Vice President? She is capable and likely can but the Presidency is another matter. Condy Rice has done as well as she has because there are no kids at home. Maybe I will be surprised, I hope so. Sarah is obviously a very gutsy lady but standing up to corrupt entities is very very hard and will be much worse in Washington. The Democratic and Republican parties thrown by the Lobbyists quite frankly made me physically want to throw up!If she can clean any of that up, good for her, but as a woman who has fought against corruption in the medical field all my life it is tough and lonely and a longhard slog without much reward .
