himself User ID: 504795 ![]() 09/16/2008 11:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wHY DO you think that most of the people of the Galveston area stayed...... they are sick of the government telling. them what to do... dead to them was better////they died not being told . what to do my their gober,ent/ Quoting: Anonymous Coward 458575Not in Galveston; Used to live in Baytown TX, I didn't evacuate when cops and fireman came to my neighborhood ordering us all out because 1. KATRINA DID NOT FLOOD MY 2ND FLOOR Worst storm ever didn't flood me out, a lesser storm is not gonna. I spent two days upstairs till floodwaters went down. My house is not wood mnatchsticks. It is masonery. 2. my guns would have been left for looters to arm themselves. I do not support gang bangers shooting cops. 3. Government did NOT pay expenses for us to evacuate, but they do pay for damages if we stay. Poor people cannot just pick up and then go rent motels after traveling 500 miles without money. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 189801 ![]() 09/17/2008 06:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Gaido's, the venerable Galveston seafood restaurant located on Seawall Boulevard, suffered major roof damage from Hurricane Ike, according to a report from the Galveston County Daily News. No other information is available at this time. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 487325I looked up their website this morning. I don't live anywhere near there now, but 20 years ago I frequented Gaido's. Great oysters, great cold beer. It's a Galveston institution. |
