Could someone clarify something? Where do legislatures get their authority to do what is essentially police investigative work or work that should be a function of the courts? How are their powers spelled out in the various constitutions that apply? I was under the impression that legislative branches were meant to pass laws and spend money. Not enforce those laws, which would come under the Judicial branch. "Everybody lies." |

And the fact that the man tased a child has nothing to do with this investigation. The legislative committee conducting this political "investigation" is steered by partisan Democrats who are carrying the water for the Obama campaign operatives who have been sent to Alaska. The chairman of this farce is a corrupt Democrat, Hollis French who has publically made comments on how he is going to "get" Palin. Hollis French hired an investigator who is friends with the man who was fired. French knew this and hired him anyway. This was never a fair or just investigation and it should be taken away from French and placed into a non-partisan venue that is not influenced by corrupt politicians seeking jobs in an Obama administration. Hollis French and his dirty Dems should be slammed with ethics charges on this one and probably will be. |

Ok, so this discussion could go on forever, which isn't really ideal for any of us. Basically, I'm just trying to stress that I don't believe Iraq was invaded merely to help the country's people. And if you believe that it was invaded for the above reason, then I think you're naive. |

I am sure everyday you wake up looking for a suicide bombing there... God it must really suck to be you! The issue isn't whether Wooten is a bad guy, the issue is whether Palin used illegal means (abuse of power) to try to get him fired and is now covering up her actions. There are rules, laws and a process to address Wooten's actions. SP doesn't get to make up her own rules, ignore and circumvent the ones that exist and abuse the powers of her public position for a personal agenda. That is the issue. How hard is this to understand ? And, re: Iraq -- "we won". Won what at what cost and for what reason ? (Ask all the dead people and their families if "we won".) Furthermore, if you've been paying attention, there are some ideological rumbles again where some people in Iraqi communities are leaning aware from the US again. (It happens when you arrest and kill people for political reasons.) If it heats up again, do we go back in and invade a sovereign nation so we can "win" again ? Just my opinion. Keep posting, Polly. You have your opinion, too. |

Ahh, someone who is very obviously head and shoulders above the intelect and comprehension of many reading this thread. Thank you, A.C., for explaining the issue. If found guilty of abuse of power Palin will be impeached and her husband and staff members will sent to prison for contempt. We have much too look forward to. ![]() The issue isn't whether Wooten is a bad guy, the issue is whether Palin used illegal means (abuse of power) to try to get him fired and is now covering up her actions. You don't know what you're talking about. Palin filed an ethics charge against herself after the legislature (with a republican majority) voted to file a complaint against her. Hollis French is one of the most respected legislators in office - respected by democrats AND republicans. He NEVER said he was going to "get" her. Palin welcomed Branchflower to be the investigator. Since Palin's announcement that she would NOT be appearing before the legislature (which is 2/3 republican!), after she had made repeated promises to do so, she now says she'll appear in front of a 3 person committee all appointed by her. And your comment, "The legislative committee conducting this political 'investigation' is steered by partisan Democrats who are carrying the water for the Obama campaign operatives who have been sent to Alaska" - is insane. Here's the facts about 'operatives': Since Palin left the state to campaign, Lt Governor, Sean Parnell - who should be 'in charge', has been "out of the office", "on vacation", "not in town". Colberg, who is the Attorney General and should be running the state when Parnell and Palin aren't here, was "Sent to Kansas for vacation". So who is running Alaska now? The lawyers of the McCain-Palin campaign!!! They have taken over the State Department of Justice....and legislators and AK state lawyers are scrambling to contest this. In addition to this, every media outlet - TV, newspaper, and radio stations - have been contacted by the McCain-Palin lawyers (read: operatives) and have been warned not to publish or produce or report any negative statements about Palin. Some reporters have been harassed by phone at home and some have even been fired. We here in Alaska know exactly what's happening but it's obvious - and very disturbing - that this information is not being shared - allowed - to get into the MSM.
