Push the young plant up trough the bottom. Push the sponge over the roots on the inside of the plant. Fill the bucket about half full with your favorite soil. Hang from a tree branch or whatever about 5 feet above the ground. They need very little water like this so regulate the water going into the bucket. Youīll see tomatoes you have only heard rumors of come from plants like this. We have been doing this for about 4 years. |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Plants donīt "WORK" and spend energy moving nutruients from roots to leaves/fruits. The nutrients flow because of osmotic pressure, and no energy is expended by the plant. IF this plant did produce a large amount of fruit, it was probably due to increased light, richer soil in its container, and/or heavy fertilization--none whih are mentioned or described. Also, they probably tasted like crap as a result of the forced growth. |

AC nli 12/08/2005 10:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That link is not what the OP is talking about...no massive mirror. One interesting thing that will happen when you grow your tomato plants this way is that they will grow upwards towards the sun until the plants get bigger and bushier and start producing fruit. You have to check them daily to be sure that the stem is growing out from under the bottom, not into it. Link please. |
