I'm thinking this might have been a reference to Fat Man and Little Boy dropped on Japan.

It means that the Rapture will happen very fast( in the blink of an eye).

28 refers to signs of death

29 refers to an event that blocks the light of the sun and the moon with stars falling from heaven, even the POWERS of the heavens shall be shaken...

It means the Second Coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven and "every eye shall see Him."

As He was ascending from His sojourn here on earth, the accompanying angel said, "This same Jesus shall so come in LIKE MANNER as he have seen Him go."

We talk about doom, and doom IS coming, but as dawn follows the darkest night, so the Seconding Coming will follow the terrible destruction of the entire world in the Time of Trouble "such as never was since there was a nation," Daniel 12:1. And those who love the Lord and long for His appearing "shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book" of life.

If I did not believe this, I would have no hope in the terrible doom that is surely coming one day, whether sooner or later. It is the coming of Christ, our one true Friend, that is our hope in all of this.

Sorry if I went on more than you wanted OP, but I'd just like to add, that the Word of God is the ONLY thing in our world that we can depend on. Everything else will let us down and prove a disappointment in the end. The Bible is the TRUTH, and "ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."

Jesus answered questioners with scripture and would ask them, "How readest thou?" and "What saith the scriptures?" And He admonished, "Search the scriptures for they testigy of Me."
