If it were Aurora, or A-12, if you'd rather. It typically won't break the sound barrier over the US. They either wait until after they break the 12 mile limit over the oceans, or until they're well into Canadian airspace. And in either case, it's usually at an altitude so high (100,000 ft or better) the sonic boom has dissipated into the lower atmosphere. Just an observation. I could be wrong, of course, but in the past that was what their flight profiles were. |
