In many ways we are 10 steps ahead of movies all the time.

In 1927 movies were barely more than the effect of the trick we teach kids ... shaking a shining flashlight in the dark and watching moving objects appear to move slow.

In 1954 we had Godzilla animation that looks ridiculous compared to today´s technology.

We have advanced to animation that even turns bullets, swords, or water into works of art cutting through air in The Matrix or in Hero.

As we advanced our abilities to magnify we went from molecules to quarks.

In the end it may be just our ability to see fast enough and magnified enough and also sometimes to realize our minds process things our eyes are not taught to see yet.

Computer upgrading is another example. What once made us content would be crazy making slow yet we were not aware it made us crazy making slow before !?!?!
