Times are tough! My socks and underwear were stolen from a laundromat!

For over 13 years I have been doing my laundry at a place across the street without incident. I always throw a couple of loads in and then leave it unattended for a 1/2 hour then throw it in the drier and leave while it dries.

Yesterday some nut ripped off a washer load of my socks and underwear and my dad's old vietnam-era marine gunny sack I carried it in! Nobody else was doing laundry at the time so the place was empty.

I live in a very busy but nice neighborhood in San Francisco with lot's of pedestrian traffic. I looked around especially at the homeless peoples piles of crap but did not see it.

I wasn't sure what I would do if I spotted it anyway but the gunny sack has my dad's and my last name so there would be no doubt to my claim if it came to that.

Most of the socks were old and dingy and I was actually just thinking I should dump half of them anyway!

They didn't even wait for the spin cycle to finish and there was a water trail out the door. They left the other more valuable load alone.

Are times getting that tough and people that desperate?

Or was it some sicko perv I don't even want to think about?
