Re: Ten steps to salvation
Do you know for sure it was God the Creator that gave Moses the 10 commandments?

Moses was a man gifted with an ability to look beyond trials and travails and to focus on the big picture. His time was a post cataclysm time, so many stories about Moses relate to events that occurred during and after the last pole shift. The parting of the Red Sea was not due to anything more than heaving of the Red Sea bed and the normal heaping of waters attracted to the pull of the passing comet. Just as water drops have surface tension, so do these water heaps, and Moses waded through where he perceived there were shallows, leading the way. He scarcely had a choice. Certain death, in the form of the Egyptian army, was at this heels.

Why did Moses lead his people to wander in the wilderness for 40 years. Well, they were just doing what everyone does after a cataclysm - wander. Life isn't good anywhere, so everyone is on the move, hoping. Velikovsky is an author who correctly understood the relationship between the story of the Exodus and the last pole shift. The gloom, the waxy carbohydrate condensate that melted in water to form what looked like milk - the land of milk and honey. Moses felt his people, the Jews, must be special, protected in some way, because they survived. He was not altogether mistaken, as he gave The Call almost continuously, while wandering around in the gloom worrying about how to feed his people, and as one genuinely in the Service-to-Other orientation, he was assisted. This situation should not be construed to mean that the Jews are in any way special or assisted, today. One hesitates to give up any such title or perception, even if it has become but an illusion.

Did Moses descend from the mountain top with the 10 Commandments carved in stone, having spoken to a burning bush? Yes and no. Moses often climbed mountain tops, which in the desert are more like hills, and did so to get the view. When he relayed that he spoke with an entity in the bushes, which he could not make out but which was of such bright light that he could scarcely look at it, how did this translate over time? The bush was so bright ... folks who had never seen an entity in light form could only assume a fire. And did Moses descend with the 10 Commandments written in stone? This was the last thing Moses would have been inclined to do, as he was not a control freak or given to hauling stone tablets around on top of all his other burdens. This story was cooked up later, and attributed to Moses, who was no longer around to refute it. Unlike Jesus, who spoke to the masses in many places and repeated his messages, Moses had few followers. The lie grew larger than the truth, as there were few to speak the truth.

The 10 Commandments show the hand of entities strongly in the Service-to-Self orientation, who answered The Call of humans wishing to tightly control others under the guise of religious edicts. Thou shalt not ... thou shalt not ... thou shalt not - where does it say love another as thy self? Where does it say to practice the Golden Rule, to do unto others as you would have them do unto you? The 10 Commandments are almost entirely fear and rule based, leaving little leeway for one to follow one's heart. Had the 10 Commandments not been packaged as the handiwork of Moses and God's angels, with the necessity of keeping up appearances, the word love would not have made the list at all.

This is from a woman who channels entities who are spirits of fallen angels who are opposed to God and therefore the keeping of the ten commandments, whereas the truth is that His Son kept them which is an example for His children to keep also, John 15:10

" If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

I wasn't elected so I sorta got fucked from the very beginning. Sucks to be me I guess. Oh well I like the heat.

See...this is the reason I get so upset when people say things like Scribe said...that "God chooses some..."

The REAL Truth, my friend, is that God has chosen ALL to be His, not just some. The difference is what choice YOU make toward God. It just so happens that God is Omniscient (all-knowing) and already knows who is His by their choice, and He knows who isn't His by their rejection of Him. I wish people like Scribe would quit tweaking the Truth around, because it discourages people and makes them think that God is mean and heartless, like some mean kid up there frying a few ants with a magnifying glass while graciously sparing a few others. The God I know is NOT like that!! His will is that ALL PEOPLE would come to know Him and accept him as their God, receiving pardon through the work that Jesus did on the cross. GGRRRrrrrrr!!!! Do you see why this upsets me so? PLEASE don't let stuff like this form your opinion of God. Instead, seek Him on your own, read the Bible, pray, and ask Him to show Himself to you in ways that you will understand it to be Him. He will be faithful to you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 538761

You are surely one of those which say millions will be saved. Well, we can't find hardly one who preaches the gospel on the street or who carries a Bible anymore. We have seen many fallen away. True Christians who keep the Ten Commandments including the 4th one, the 7th day sabbath are a rarity, let alone to find a church which does.

Read Matthew 24:22,24 about the elect, the chosen of God. Also study Romans 9:6-19 which shows God has mercy on some, and others, He hardens. In other words, He chooses some, and some, He does not.

The one step to Salvation

1. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

YES!! And since Jesus fulfilled (satisfied) the Mosaic law, there is only one way back to God now...Through Jesus, by the work he completed on the cross. Freely given...people just have to say "okay, I accept". God Himself will do the rest of the work in you!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 538761

Through Jesus we have forgiveness for sins. However, there is NO forgiveness for unrepented sin. In order to repent, you need to know and keep the ten commandments. Salvation is only for the repentent, which is why it says in Philippians 2:12 to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

I would also stop after the first step. God chooses whom He will: For many are called but few are chosen.

God provides us with the one thing we need to be saved: Faith. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

Any steps after that are purely academic and inconsequential. You can't earn what you already have.

Re: Ten steps to salvation
Grace

Faith

That's it?

Many will add 'love'.

Well, these are just words on paper. We need to act upon them.

What about Galatians 5:16? "Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh."

How do you do that?

Well, here's a suggestion: Take a yellow marker and mark all the passages in the New Testament of things the Lord tells us to do and then think on those things, and then begin to enact every one of them in your life to make your life a living epistle for the Lord and a shining light to this generation of lost sheep.

Such a life of action is the fulfilling of Galatians 5:16.

You'll find that the walk of faith is no easy believism, and far more than warming a pew and leaving an offering. Many will appear before the Great White Throne empty-handed and wonder why the Lord is saying, "I do not know you".

John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Salvation is by grace, through faith. There’s nothing you did, or ever can do, to deserve it. It’s a free gift from God. All you have to do is receive it!

Ephesians 2:8 says: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

So, here's your path to Salvation;

Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (NIV)

Anything other than this route is a LIE!!!

That's fine if you're a thief on the cross. It's what you do afterwards with what you have received that counts.

BTW, you omitted the need for repentance.

The next immediate step for the new believer is to be baptized in accordance with Acts 2:38, and you must keep the Ten Commandments to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, John 14:15,16 or it is impossible to walk in righteousness and holiness. You are to exhibit the fruits of your repentance, Matthew 3:8.

And lastly, you must endure unto the end.

Anything short of this, no one shall see the Kingdom of God. It is a narrow way, and there is no shortcut.

IMO, anytime one says, "Believe on Jesus, AND"...insert legalism here.....I must remain skeptical.

This is many times indicative of cult-like thinking.

To add to the finished work of the Cross is questionable.

Yes, God is a legalist, for He told us to keep His Commandments if we want the gift of the Holy Spirit, John 14:15,16. Teaching God's Word in its fulness does not constitute a cult.

If you're near any open water, watch for sudden changes in the tides, for example, from high to low, which is a sign of the Earth's wobble resulting from PX's close approach. I have both seen and heard about this in recent weeks. I don't think we're going to be given any time frame on the break-away of this asteroid.

I'm not afraid of any God who could torment a person forever. God is bigger than humans, he created them. So a REAL God would have no need to torment a person forever. That, dear Scribe, would be a demon that would do that. And I don't believe in Gods or demons. Are you afraid you might go to the Muslim hell if they are correct about Allah? I'll bet you aren't because you're arrogance tells you that you are correct. Well pride comes before a fall.

I think even your Bible would tell you that no one knows the ways of God. But I guess you are the substitute God, Scribe. Sorry, I don't believe in you.

I'm here as a humble servant of God to point out what the bible says, not to seek followers. It is the Word of God which reveals fully Who He is and His ways which are all holy, for He is an altogether holy and righteous God Who hates all sin.

Hell was made for the devil and his angels, not for man, but man has chosen the evil so God has had to enlarge Hell to acommodate all those who reject him. It is man who rejects God and His ways, so by doing so they allow themselves in their ignorance to be enslaved to their master, the devil. As a consequence, they follow him into Hell. Simple as that.

Does God need Men to write for Him?

God uses men to write His Word which is the authorized 1611 King James Version. Even the Ten Commandments were written by His Son, Exodus 31:18, as follows:

And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Quoting: Scribe to the Prophet Elijah

Well, Scribe, there is even confusion in the Bible as to what the Ten Commandments really were. Oh, I know what most people think, but here’s another description, straight from the word of God. I have inserted the appropriate commandment numbers before each commandment, otherwise the verses are continuous and verbatim:

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.

And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

[1st] For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

[2nd] Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

[3rd] The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

[4th] All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

[5th] Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

[6th] And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

[7th] Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.

[8th]Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

[9th] The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God.

[10th] Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments." (Exodus 34:1-28, Emphasis my own).

These are not the same Ten Commandments most Christians accept and quote; therefore, dear Scribe, what are the real “Ten Commandments” which were written on the tablets given to Moses?

 Quoting: The Professor 385883

There is only ONE decalogue, the ones as outlined in Exodus 20:1-17. In their shortened form, these are what would have appeared on the tablets of stone in Hebrew:

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

l. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5. Honour thy father and thy mother.

6. Thou shalt not kill.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8. Thou shalt not steal.

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10.Thou shalt not covet.

The Exodus chapter 34 passage is the content of God's covenant with his people as they prepare to go into Cana. To consider the 10th "commandment" as you have listed, "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk" in the place of "Thou shalt not covet" is clearly not God's intent at all.

Re: Ten steps to salvation
Yes, God is a legalist, for He told us to keep His Commandments if we want the gift of the Holy Spirit, John 14:15,16.
Quoting: Scribe to the Prophet Elijah

Jesus FREELY gives the HS to those that ask and seek Him sincerely; not for works, but by faith.

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

Teaching God's Word in its fulness does not constitute a cult.
Quoting: Scribe to the Prophet Elijah

But, adding to the Word does.

Teaching faith by works does too.

Re: Ten steps to salvation
You are saved because God chose you first not because you chose him first. It's not our act of faith which initiated the new birth.

THE STEPS OF SALVATION

1. election - He chooses some people to be saved.

Quoting: Scribe to the Prophet Elijah

The election is UNCONDITIONAL. It is not "tunnel of time" foresight for good merits. It is not to all of humanity. It is to a specific number, chosen before the foundation of the world. Human acts do not in any way enter into whether someone is one of God's elect.

You continue to preach a gospel of salvation by works. You continue to spread absurd predictions from the false prophet.

Repent from such wickedness!

Believe me, it's hideous when this happens.
