Derka User ID: 517461 United States 11/04/2008 08:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, I'm also in north Georgia, and I voted at 4:35PM and had absolutely no wait at all. It was pretty excellent. Ignorance is the root of fear Fear is the kindling of anger War is the bringer of shame But never has the burden lain so heavily upon the victim Rage and desolation Pain and loneliness Isn't it all alarmingly familiar? Hey, hey, hey, silence is a killer. |

Got in line about 5:30 in my small town, and the people said "polls are closed" as soon as I entered my vote. That's 90 min wait just under the buzzer. We have had some places around here where the wait was literally 3-4 hours! I've never seen anything like this around here. Truly an unusual happening. There have even been places where people left because they were being taunted by people outside the polls, telling them that if they chose one way or another, they were bad parents, etc! As for me, I'm glad it's almost over. Have a good night :) PT |

EyeAm User ID: 543036 United States 11/04/2008 11:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some facts you all really need to consider. 1. In a country that allows obscenely large corporate campaign contributions, leaders are beholden and therefor basically figure-heads. 2. Most media is now under the controll of multinational conglomerates, therefor it is in the best interests of the shareholders to elect the party that will continue to de-regulate just about everything. Corporations are bound by law to do what is in the financaial best interests of there shareholders even when obeying that law breaks others. 3. It is easier to get away with stealing an election if you pretend to favor the candidate you don't want right up till the end and then basically SELL the installation of the other ticket. 4. Appropriately cynical humans who actually QUESTION what they see, read and hear can easily see that the last eight years have been utterly dominated by fascists. READ SOME @#$&%@&@! HISTORY DAMNIT! 5. There is cause for hope, however, as the American tolerance for bull#$@& is seemingly at an end. But don't get too excited though. A Democrat president only means the squeezing of the common folk has to shift into low gear. 6. Lastly, no matter how honorable a man Barack Obama is, nobody, (lets repeat that, NOBODY) stands in the way of the multinational conglomerate corporations when litteraly "TRILLIONS" are on the line. Now how's that for an eye-opening dose of realism! WAKE THE F&%$ UP SHEEP. |
