Inauguration Day:Turn Your Back On Bush
The election is over. The fight is not.
We need to think strategically about direct action, learn from a rich history of non-violent activisim, and develop new tactics to take on this administration.
Let´s start from the start.
Inauguration day.
On Jan 20,2005 we´re calling for a new kind of action. The Bush administration has been successful at keeping protestors away from major events in the last few years by closing off areas about events and using questionable legal strategies to outlaw public dissent. We can use these obstacles to develop new tactics. On inauguration day,we don´t need banners,we don´t need signs,we just need people.
We´re calling on people to attend the inauguration as they are;members of the public.Once through security and at the procession,at a given signal,we´ll all turn our backs on Bush.A simple, clear and coherent message.

I´m not sure this will be very effective. The media will simply ignore the protest and the only people to see it will be the protesters or Bush´s supporters who are many.

Also, since the theme of the inauguration is supposedly ´The War President´, I´m sure that the focus will be on the thousands of troops he will likely have lining up and saluting Herr Furer!

Re: Inauguration Day:Turn Your Back On Bush
Any protest is better than no protest. If Bush and his sycophants see many people turning their backs,it will infuriate ´his majesty´no end and I anticipate his response will at least be embarrassing and lead to more vehement ´foot in mouth´rhetoric. In his insular and God given mandate he is incapable of fathoming protest.Given that he has been´protected´from protests,he does not or cannot read the media re protests and is carefully mollycoddled by his aides.A perfect event scenario for a large passive protest for those who will sneak through the inauguration security.
Turn your back on Bush is a well organised and strategically orchestrated event.

Make Thursday, January 20, 2005 a day of protest.

1. BUY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. To protest this administration´s and Congress´s, "Go out and spend" attitude.

2. Stay out of the BANKS this date to let the NWO and World Bankers know that we are not their sheep.

3. Do not use any credit cards this date . Get out of credit card debt and use only as 30 day pay off to protest high rates.

4. Buy no GAS this date to protest high oil prices. Plan ahead.

5. Buy no STOCKS this date to protest corporate corruption in the Stock Market.

Get out of debt.

hi Hi DeepEnd,

Turning our backs, would be funny but not worthless.

Not Spending for a Day, and even better for the whole week would really make a statement that even the press could not ignore.

Just think what would happen if every store, every business, every bank, and the stock market would lose 50% or more of their business for a week.

Peace, light, and love. luv

What you are proposing is economic terrorism according to the glorious patriot act. If you don´t believe me, look it up. You could be arrested for suggesting a boycott.
