Clinton issued a buttload of pardons just before he left office too.

I have two issues with pardons. First is that Bush 41 gave a few blanket pardons even though the people hadn't been charged or convicted yet. It seems that a pardon should apply to a specific charge.

Also, I don't think a pardon should wipe out a conviction. It should still be on a person's record. Didn't Caspar Weinberger go on to serve in Clinton's administration? And then there is Poindexter who was pardoned by Bush 41 who is now heading the secret spy-on-citizens program of the Defense Department.
