Breaking - Us about to go to war again - Rice: “U.S. Will Act” Against Alleged Mumbai Perpetrators if Pakistan Will Not
wtf

Islamabad: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has told Pakistan that there is ‘irrefutable evidence’ of involvement of elements in this country in the Mumbai Terror attacks and it had no option but to act urgently and effectively to avert a strong international response.

Rice ‘pushed’ the Pakistani leaders to move against the perpetrators of the terror strikes warning that ‘otherwise, the US will act,’ the 'Dawn' reported on Saturday.

The clear message was conveyed to Pakistan's top leadership by Rice during her brief stopover in Islamabad on Thursday, diplomatic sources said, giving credence to the report.

Rice said that there was ‘irrefutable evidence’ of the involvement of Pakistani elements in the Mumbai attacks, the sources said.

She travelled to Pakistan after a visit to India, where she was shown the extensive evidence gathered by investigators to prove the linkages between the Mumbai attackers and Pakistan-based elements, especially the banned Lashker-e-Toiba terror group, the sources said.

I know but can they be more obvious?

wtf

So now any time anyone gets attacked it's Americas job to fix it?

Glad to see that we can't keep factories open but we have more than enough money to go sort out every international fight that pops up.

Militants in Pakistan Destroy NATO Trucks

Early Monday, militants in Peshawar also attacked a terminal for the supply trucks, torching up to 50 military vehicles awaiting shipment.

Exactly!

Can you blame them?

What the fuck are American military vehicles doing in Pakistan in the first place?

If you had convoys of Chinese military vehicles amassing in your neighborhood wouldn't you torch them? I know I would.

How can you be so fucking arrogant...

So basically you're saying that they deserve to be attacked because they refuse to let us use their lands as a staging ground to kill other Muslims half a world away from us who haven't done anything wrong?

I can't say I blame them a bit, their way of life and their freedom is clearly under attack by the U.S., not to mention that we regularly just bomb groups of innocent people over there...

How would you react if China was doing this in America?

Would you just sit back and say we deserve it because the Chinese are nice enough to put their tanks in our country and we don't appreciate it?

Anyway, I thought the whole Afghan war was to "get Osama", and oust the evil Taliban!

Alright, great, so mission accomplished right, well except for the whole bin Laden thing...lol

So why the fuck are we still over there stirring up the fucking pot?

They should strike Peshawar and the rest of these tribal shithole areas of Pakistan with tactical nukes.

Next terror attack on U.S. will come from Pakistan'
By IANS
Tuesday, December 2, 2008Comment(5)PrintForward
Washington: Describing Pakistan as "the intersection of nuclear weapons and terrorism", a top U.S. Congressional panel has warned that the next terror attack on America is likely to originate in its ally's tribal areas.

While observing that Pakistan is a U.S. ally, the commission on weapon of mass destruction (WMD) and terrorism said "the next terrorist attack against the United States is likely to originate from within the Federally Administered Tribal Areas" in Pakistan.

The U.S. says the tribal areas in northwest Pakistan, where the government exerts little control, are a haven for militants from both Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan.

The commission also expressed particular concern about the nuclear programs of Iran and North Korea, and about Pakistan, which it described as "the intersection of nuclear weapons and terrorism."

It warned that there is a threat of nuclear terrorism, both because more countries are developing nuclear weapons and because some existing nuclear powers are expanding their arsenals.

"Terrorist organizations are intent on acquiring nuclear weapons," said the report, which was published Tuesday on the internet and will be officially released Wednesday.

It cited testimony before the commission from former Senator Sam Nunn, who said that the "risk of a nuclear weapon being used today is growing, not receding."

The commission was created in line with a recommendation from the 9/11 Commission on the Sep 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S.

But terrorists are likely to use a weapon of mass destruction somewhere in the world in the next five years, former Senator Bob Graham, chairman of the commission was quoted as saying by CNN Tuesday.

They are more likely to use a biological weapon than a nuclear one - and the results could be devastating, Graham said.

"The consequences of a biological attack are almost beyond comprehension. It would be 9/11 times 10 or a hundred in terms of the number of people who would be killed," he said.

He cited the flu virus that killed millions of people in 1918 as an example.

"Today it is still in the laboratory, but if it should get out and into the hands of scientists who knew how to use it for a violent purpose, we could have multiple times the 40 million people who were killed 100 years ago," he said.

The U.S. government "needs to move more aggressively to limit" the spread of biological weapons, the commission said in its report. Graham warned that such measures would be costly, but were necessary.

Graham said a biological attack was more likely than a nuclear one because it would be easier to carry out.
Biological weapons "are more available," he said. "Anthrax is a natural product of dead animals. Other serious pathogens are available in equally accessible forms."
There are so many scientists who have the skills to convert a pathogen from benign, helpful purposes into an illicit, very harmful weapon," he added.

The report recommends a range of measures, including increased security and awareness at biological research labs and strengthening international treaties against the spread of biological and nuclear weapons.

"Many biological pathogens and nuclear materials around the world are poorly secured-and thus vulnerable to theft by those who would put these materials to harmful use, or would sell them on the black market to potential terrorists," the report warned.

Ummm..who said they DESERVE it, or that it's right that the trucks are there? I'm only saying that TPTB could use these bombings as an excuse to attack Pakistan - along with the attacks in Mumbai.

That's exactly what I believe they do. Create/stir up situations that are already volitile and then point and say, "SEE? Now we have to respond to that."

Who said anything about blaming them? Stupid move though. It's likely to get their whole freakin' country attacked directly.

To answer your question about what gives the right of passage there - the Pakistani government gives the right for UN troops to move supplies through their country. I don't necessarily blame the Pakistani people for being perturbed about it - I'm just sayin......

Why is it the U.S.'s job "to act" if the Indians won't? It's THEIR hotels, for Rudyard Kipling's sake! Besides we're broke.

Because it was westerners targeted. That's why hotels were targeted instead of market places and government buildings.
