I once thought I wanted to live in Colorado, but I learned that the winters there can really suck (ice on the roads in Colorado Springs can really screw things up a bit). That, and there's some crazy shit going on there having to do with that airport, the NWO, etc. If I ever move to Colorado, it will be to Durango, but no farther north.

Durango is an awesome area.

Keep it down, wouldya...

I get a little verklempt when I watch these videos and remember why I love Colorado so much.

If God has a vacation homes on Earth, he surely has one in Colorado.

This video was mostly Yellowstone, Glacier and Banff, Alberta, I think...

If you live in the suburbs of Denver or Colorado Springs, or in one of the mountain towns, expect to see a wide variety of wildlife in your backyard on a day to day basis - deer (scads), skunks, mountain lions, bears, foxes, coyotes, hummingbirds, racoons, rabbits, and the occasional bigfoot peeking in your window or rummaging through your trash.
----

Do tell.

I was thinkin the same thing. Saywhat!

Regarding wildlife, I was just talking to my sis today and she was telling me about the racoons? cyotees? hanging around from time to time, so have to be careful with my cat in the back yard.

-----
If a cat or small dog truly matters to you, do not let them outside or they will almost inevitably become coyote food. It is becoming a very big problem currently.

ya, my sis lost one of her cats that way.

Man is it cold today!

I thought it was supposed to be snowing all day, but the sun is out up here in Boulder.

Hi canislatrans.. the more info on Boulder I find, and the likes of BluzGal last post, looks like Boulder might just be the eventual choice to settle. Hmm. Didn't realize the diversity it offers.

From everything you have said, no doubt whatsoever, you will absolutely love absolutely everything about Boulder.
Guaranteed.

Diversity in Boulder? If you mean leftist, well to do white people, maybe. They don't call it the "People's Republic" for nothing.

Blacks & hispanics are very rare, unless they're in menial jobs. Even most of the menial jobs are held by white, well to do students, many from the east coast. It's what gives the place its charm.

Don't get me wrong, I like Boulder, and wish I could afford to live there. But it's not diverse.

You haven't been there in awhile, have you. Like all of Colorado, half of Mexico is there now, everywhere.

But hey! We've got great dog parks! Ha!

I live in Boulder, absolutely love it here. Mostly because I am an outdoorsy person. If you're expecting a thriving nightlife or club scene like what NYC has, you are looking at the wrong city.

Close. On the Flatirons.

You can keep the whole of the front range. It's ruined already. If I were to consider coming back... And that's not likely. It would be as far from Denver/Boulder/Ft Collins and the I70 corridor as I could manage. HOV lane in Aspen... wall to wall houses from the Springs to the Wyoming line. One trick pony economy. No thanks.

Now, a few hundred acres on the Raton pass, or in the San Jaun's by Pagosa Springs, that I would consider.

Please, no flames. Colorado born and bred. My wife and all of my kids too. Some are still there. Lived the width and breadth of the state. Worked the truck farms and the cattle ranches (I'm an Anglo) . We moved from Littleton before the massacre, still know teachers that lived it.

Do I miss it, yea some of it, some of the time.

Bad as the economy is there is more in Ohio. Still need the few hundred acres tho.... :)

I have to agree with that. Eventually I would love to find a nice remote spot in Colorado to live with lots of open space to run the doggies and get lost in nature and never see another person.
