Diversity in Boulder? If you mean leftist, well to do white people, maybe. They don't call it the "People's Republic" for nothing. Blacks & hispanics are very rare, unless they're in menial jobs. Even most of the menial jobs are held by white, well to do students, many from the east coast. It's what gives the place its charm. Don't get me wrong, I like Boulder, and wish I could afford to live there. But it's not diverse. You haven't been there in awhile, have you. Like all of Colorado, half of Mexico is there now, everywhere. |

If I were to consider coming back... And that's not likely. It would be as far from Denver/Boulder/Ft Collins and the I70 corridor as I could manage. HOV lane in Aspen... wall to wall houses from the Springs to the Wyoming line. One trick pony economy. No thanks. Now, a few hundred acres on the Raton pass, or in the San Jaun's by Pagosa Springs, that I would consider. Please, no flames. Colorado born and bred. My wife and all of my kids too. Some are still there. Lived the width and breadth of the state. Worked the truck farms and the cattle ranches (I'm an Anglo) . We moved from Littleton before the massacre, still know teachers that lived it. Do I miss it, yea some of it, some of the time. Bad as the economy is there is more in Ohio. Still need the few hundred acres tho.... :) |
