Wheel in the sky wows local residents
Harkening to the popular Journey song, a wheel in the sky appeared over Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes early Saturday morning, a seemingly perfect hole punched though the sheet of clouds blanketing the sky.

Locals who phoned and e-mailed the Daily Comet and The Courier this weekend about the strange cloud formation did agree on one thing: “It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Raceland resident Sandra Ledet, who shared some spectacular photos with the Daily Comet.

Shawn O’Neil, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Slidell, identified the phenomenon as a hole-punch cloud.

“They don’t occur all that often, and they are usually caused when an aircraft intersects altocumulus or cirrocumulus clouds,” he said.

Altocumulus are high-altitude clouds, usually white or gray in color, that occur in sheets or patches. Cirrocumulus also are high-altitude clouds made up of supercooled liquid water droplets and ice crystals.

Re: Wheel in the sky wows local residents
Last year about this time Atlanta had a bad chemtrail day and there were hole punches with the typical falling ice crystals but what was most noticeable were the chemtrail grid squares in the center of each one. All of them were created at once by several planes.

the grids were sort of like this :
## but square. There were about five visible from one vantage point at one time in the skies above.

This is a rendering I did in photoshop of the grids in the hole punches I described earlier in this post. This was from about a year ago.

UFO's, no doubt. Had this been at night, you might have seen a light, or a few of them rotating flat along the cloud, Cloudship. Large craft, motherships, are usually involved with this kind of cloudlike stucture.

Really, it isn't. It's a camera cam, not a video cam.
there is light noise creating the redness. I'm not trying to be the world's best videographer. I'm trying to document phenomena that is rare.
To pick up cloud structure at night is rare. To pick up the rotating light in the cloud structure is even more rare.
To get this vid, in the freezing cold, balancing on a step stool on a balcony is difficult at best. To do this with a 15-20 mph wind isn't easy either.

But, that these weird clouds were completely still in a 15-20 mph wind, and spotlighting in the sky is worth taking the video. I haven't seen anything else anywhere that is of this phenomena.

When you can do the same, let me know. I'll be watching for it.

Re: Wheel in the sky wows local residents
Here is a screen shot from my cell phone straight at the image. The grids I drew are much clearer. I was trying to avoid my flash in the other pic so I took it at an angle and ended up catching a lightbulb on the ceiling in that other image.
I'm such a boob.
