Yep, if my daughter came to me and said, seriously I am thinking about killing my daughter, I would have surely taken the child to raise.

There is the state, etc. that have programs.

Seriously, if you went to an Emergency Room even and said this child is not safe with me, I think they would have to call the authorities and the child would be taken from you.

So, with those options available, she obviously was just cold blooded about it and probably thought she would get away with it, or if she "knows" someone, knew she could get away with it.
