Question of legality of buying firearms in parts
If you buy a gun 1 part at a time, ie: barrel, reciever, trigger assembly, stock, and magazine all at separate times at which point are you buying a 'firearm'? You could break it down further and get all the individual parts from modders and replacement sources but there is quite a few parts to buy. My question is, is this a surefire way to beat gun bans, registration, and any local or state laws since no 'gun' is ever being purchased, just scrap metal.

keep it simple dude, purchase a complete weapon from a private seller , no paper trail leading to you..

On guns you buy in parts (AR15) the lower receiver is stamped with a serial number. This part is controlled and is sold and registered just like a gun.

Wrong. You can buy a AR -15 lower receiver housing with 2 holes NOT drilled, and not painted.
All you have to do is have the holes drilled and paint it. Add
your internal parts, an upper receiver and boolits. There you go.
