ddressing a recent seminar on the Travel industry, Indonesian vice president Jusuf Kalla made a very debatable remark.



The VP, in quite a humorous vein said that ‘there is nothing wrong in the Arab men staying at Indonesia, paying the local women for a very short-lived married life, and then divorcing them’.



This kind of marriages are the shortest I have ever heard about.



Can you imagine anyone being paid for one-hour marriage and then divorced after the sexual hunger is satiated?



The VP further said that this kind of marriages would help in flourishing the trade of the tourism department.



However, critics have labeled this practice as a form of legal prostitution, which is common in the Puncak neighborhood, a place famous for this kind of short-lived marriages.
