Last week this story was headline news. When it was headline news they were worried it would just knock off the tip about 2500 sq km, as you can see by the nasa pictures it is much much worse, perhaps 200 X 100 km , what is that squared? anyway fuck you |

Last week Nasaīs United States website said B-15A, the worldīs biggest iceberg, was due to collide with the Drygalski Ice Tongue - where a glacier meets the sea - near Ross Island. People should "get ready for the largest demolition derby on the planet". "Nasa scientists expect a collision to occur no later than January 15, 2005." Last Saturday came and went, however, without a calamitous collision. Australian glaciologist Neal Young of the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystem Cooperative Research Centre said yesterday that B15-A was still seven kilometres from the ice tongue, moving between one and two kilometres a day. There was no way of knowing when the collision would happen. "It might happen tomorrow. It might not happen till next month. I donīt think itīll take till next year." Storms and currents could also make the iceberg change course. However, the weather looked relatively settled. Wasnīt it about this time that Marianne let us know that Scott Base was off-line? Along with other places down under. We still donīt know what caused that. Plus we havenīt heard anymore about the Russian and Chinese ice breakers headed there. Somethingīs up. If we get enough info, we can connect the dots. ![]() To those who say "So What?" itīs on the other side of the world. Hon, itīs closer than you think. Listen up. |

Marianne... What do you think of the possibility that "someone" just kind of shut if off? Or at least parts of it...I remember you said that you were told SOME stuff on it is working. VERY interesting. Yes, I found it most peculiar that some countries are working and some arenīt... i woudl have thought that if the satellite is not working then no links would be working... but then, what do I know? I am no satellite expert." |
