What would the hand crank be powering INSIDE of the stove? Lithium batteries do not give off heat.

I'm not sure they exist.
Stoves need fuel.
The hand crank things are for low power electrical things like flashlights and radios.

And electric element hot enough to cook food would need way more power then a hand crank.

When electricity stoves are possible. Why not hand crank stoves which can operate for sometime - lets say where u can cook/heat something for emergencies...

How about atleast a hand crank battery charger which then can be used for a Stove that operates on a battery ?

maybe we can still help you, what are your goals for a stove? why must it be hand crankable.

Why not somebody come up with something like this. It would help millions - not only in emergencies but for Red Cross.

Surprised there isnt one like this. It does not have to operate for hours. Just minutes...lets say like 10-15 minutes.

get a solar oven or start a fire. It takes a lot of energy to produce heat, that's why you won't ever find a battery operated stove.

I suppose you could have a friction based hand cranked stove, otherwise you would need some external heat source like gas or electricity.

i own several "crank" items, lights and radios. the difference you are missing is that those need only a few watts - literally, to run - whereas a stove needs...oh, 1500 to boil water in 10 minutes.

therein lies your problem, sir.

Reasons for hand crankable
1. ALL obvious reasons all GLPrs know a lot now.
2. Indoor Gas based stove will exhaust after sometime if DOOM time is over weeks
3. No Electricity available for weeks

If anybody thinks iam crazy. its ok. Those with kids know what it means if somebody falls sick and need emergency water etc...

Yeah but the cranking to create the friction would have to be continuous. You would have to crank it until you were done using the stove. It would use less energy to start a fire.

OP.I'm guessing that you jerk off about 50 times a day so I'm sure that YOU create enough heat friction to boil a pot of water in about 30 seconds flat!You don't need a stove,just use even less lube!

Understand. What do people do/can do if they need stove for 10 mins when they dont have gas...or anything like that ? - they should be left to DOOM ?

get a weber and a few bags of charcoal. when we had the big power outage in '03 i cooked everything on the grill, even coffee.

Learn to start a fire with out a flame. It is just not possible at this point to create that kind of heat with out fuel.

Electric stoves use a LOT of power.

Our technology is just not there yet.

i have used solar ovens that work amazingly well. youtube it. they are real simple.

otherwise, i myself use a wood cookstove year-round. it uses very little wood and cooks everything just like a normal range. baking and all. added plus is that it supplies heat and hot water as well all off the same little fire.

that is where you need to be headed...imo.

Go for a solar stove. The amount of effort required to power a "hand crank stove" would be unrealistic. I can see what would bring you to ask about this but the physics and technologies available to us today stand in the way of your vision. You could also just try a good camping stove or a wood stove.

Get an old bike and hook it up to a generator. If you're lucky, you'll be able to make 200 watts for 15 or 20 minutes. That might be enough to run an EZ-Bake oven.
