When do you start to play again? The next day or after a few hours? Doesn't really matter you will run into times where your color bet wont come up, even after 20 bets. The outcome will be the same whether you make the bets all on the same game or split the 20 bets into 4 different games through several days. Just rememeber to keep track of how much you're betting and how much the betting limit is. If you run out of headroom, you can potentially lose alot of money if the odds are against you.. Anonymous Coward User ID: 39169230 ![]() 05/01/2013 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My friend did this at a real casino on time. After red came 17 times he lost a crapload of money. He never told any of us how much but he was able to double plenty of times. I tried this system (it's called the Martingale system) online on a live casino where they use webcams with real dealers. I turned $39 to a little over $500 in one week. But one day I doubled up until I was at $256 and this was my last chance to win before I busted my bankroll. Luckily I made it but I was afraid to continue so I took out all the cash. The Martingale system works on the shortrun but I doubt it's profitable in the long run. Be very careful if you use this system. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 31776257 ![]() 05/01/2013 01:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this system sucks if you think about the odds.. say you had 80 pounds limit started betting 5.. 10.. 20.. 40.. 80 you would only ever make 5 pounds profit each time unless you got real lucky on the 1st spin of 5 of your system which is like normal gambling anyway. lose=5 win=10 total=l5 lose=5 lose=10 win=20 total=5 lose=5 lose=10 lose=20 win=40 total=5 lose=5 lose=10 lose=20 lose=40 win=80 total=5 you'd need to bet this way 16 times to get 80 pounds (your stake money)and in 16 tries what's the chance of getting 5 of the same colour i would say a lot. so this system maybe ok if you wanted to win 5 pounds but not much use in winning bigger amounts. |

Who regulates them? To be honest, I've never visited a gambling site. Maybe it's all staffed by humans with cams pointed at them, and no program code running. But still... I guess my question is: Those of you who use these sites, how can you feel secure that there's no cheating going on at the other end? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 39208546 ![]() 05/04/2013 07:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This would only work for European roulette. The 0/00 on the US board throws the odds in the casino's favor. Another roulette strategy is to bet every four-corner bet on the board. If you hit an outside number you win one bet, hit an inside number and you win two. I hate roulette. Poker is the only way to go as you're up against players instead of a rigged casino game. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 39171175 ![]() 05/04/2013 07:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | that system has been about for years. The only way to beat casinos is to stay away from them. If it was that simple to win money then there wouldn't be so many casinos and betting shops about. You should only bet for fun and never as a way to make money. Only ever bet with money you can afford to lose. Nothing worse than a gambling addiction and it can happen to anyone pretty fast. |

It does work so long as you have a large enough initial bank. I tried it on one of those free fun games but can't afford £400 to do it for real. |

firsttime User ID: 39690867 ![]() 03/11/2015 03:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah I had this exact same idea in high school. It's flawed because, well, I guess the best way to put it into words is that you don't have an infinite amount of money, and even if you did the odds of you making money are still not in your favor, at least not in the long term. Every time you win, no matter how high the numbers got, you earned $5. Say you have 5120 dollars. That means you can bet, starting from 5, and do exactly 10 iterations before you can't double any more. Your system is either make $5, or lose literally all of your money. The chances of you losing all 5120 is 0.000976, not accounting for 0 or 00 "greens". The chances of you earning $5 is 0.998046875, not counting 0 or 00. These probabilities, because they don't include the greens, add up to 1. 5/5120=.000976. Therefore, you will theoretically win just as much as you lose (ignoring greens). It's like any kind of bet in roulette, though more similar to betting on 35/36 of the single spaces since you'll win over 99% of the time. If you start with a higher amount, you'll find the same results, but it might take longer to lose. Of course, that's balanced by the fact that you will lose a shitton more. 0 and 00 make this a losing strategy overall. To my knowledge, roulette is not a game you can cheat. If there is a way to turn the odds in your favor, god damn it would take a ridiculously creative mind to find it. Maybe if you can find a pattern in the "dealer*s" spin, or perhaps somehow intuitively understand what space is gonna be hit next. Human intuition can find some amazing things if we allow it to roam freely. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68502212 ![]() 03/11/2015 06:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Martingale Quoting: Wizard of OddsEvery week I receive two or three emails asking me about the betting system by which a player doubles his/her bet after a loss. This system is generally played with an even money game such as the red/black bet in roulette or the pass/don’t pass bet in craps and is known as the Martingale. The idea is that by doubling your bet after a loss, you would always win enough to cover all past losses plus one unit. For example if a player starts at $1 and loses four bets in a row, winning on the fifth, he will have lost $1+$2+$4+$8 = $15 on the four losing bets and won $16 on the fifth bet. The losses were covered and he had a profit of $1. The problem is that it is easier than you think to lose several bets in a row and run out of betting money after you’ve doubled it all away. [link to wizardofodds.com] A martingale is any of a class of betting strategies that originated from and were popular in 18th century France. The simplest of these strategies was designed for a game in which the gambler wins his stake if a coin comes up heads and loses it if the coin comes up tails. The strategy had the gambler double his bet after every loss, so that the first win would recover all previous losses plus win a profit equal to the original stake. The martingale strategy has been applied to roulette as well, as the probability of hitting either red or black is close to 50%. Quoting: WikipediaSince a gambler with infinite wealth will, almost surely, eventually flip heads, the martingale betting strategy was seen as a sure thing by those who advocated it. Of course, none of the gamblers in fact possessed infinite wealth, and the exponential growth of the bets would eventually bankrupt "unlucky" gamblers who chose to use the martingale. Casino betting limits eliminate use of the martingale strategy. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

Yeah countless times I've gone into a casino with a positive winning attitude and had the cards fall for me, making big hands and dealer busting almost every time. And on the flipside I've gone into casino depressed on numerous occasions and basically expecting to lose and accepting defeat before I've even placed a bet. These are the times when I get the worst run of my life. Seen a dealer make blackjack 4 times in a row on one of these days, and I didn't hit one all night. Has nothing to do with betting patterns either because i bet the same and play the same whatever my mood. |

If it's all red and black, the odds are exactly the same that the next 10 spins are RRRRRRRRRR as they are it is RBBRRRRBBB. Each spin is 50-50. Ugh What you're really betting is that you hit the 50-50 shot. This "method" of yours works in theory, but you will more than likely lose in reality over the long run when the bad streaks hit. Knock yourself out, though. LOL |
