Re: Evolution is impossible
the bible also tells you to stfu and obey your goverment, i guess you forgot that part ROMANS 13, k now that i got that out of the way.

your second point... you ask that question why? there r many explantions and they actually make since instead of your bible crap, how about you check out the latest on M theory? rather then being happy with what you THINK you know and calling it a day. ( or in your case calling it a LIFE)

No, the "religion" of man says stfu and obey government.

I have noted a lot of Humanist beliefs on this forum.

Sorry, this is New World Order programming. Those of you that have bought into it are going to be controlled by the "STATE".

Those of you who have public school education and sit in front of the idiot box (TV), may want to venture into something new:

Proper translation of Romans 13 from the Bible:

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher liberty. For there is no liberty but of God: the liberties that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth (opposes) the liberty, resisteth (opposes) the ordinance of God: and they that resist (sets one's self against) shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the liberty? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same."

SECRET SOCIETIES

Masonry, like all the Religions, all the Mysteries, Hermeticism and Alchemy, conceals its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect, and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its symbols to mislead those who deserve only to be misled; to conceal the Truth, which it calls Light, from them, and to draw them away from it. Truth is not for those who are unworthy or unable to receive it, or would pervert it... The truth must be kept secret, and the masses need a teaching proportioned to their imperfect reason.” —Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma (circa 1871)

Re: Evolution is impossible
I think the truth is, that there is variation in all species, but ultimately, our blueprint has been determined by the DNA structure/sequence inside us.

There is plenty of variation between humans - black, white, ginger, chinese, asian, tall, small, attractive, ugly, fat, thin, intelligent, dumb.... the list goes on.

The 'weaker' variations no longer die out, as we do not live as hunter-gatherers anymore.

I don't think Darwin had it quite right.

Let me get this straight. Your "Intelligent Designer" couldn't figure out how to properly adapt an organism to a single biome, so he/she/it/them instead designed a whole variety of organisms, set them loose, and only the fit ones survived?

That sounds more like piss-poor planning to me, than an exercise in intelligence. Sure; I can design an eye, but I can't figure out albinism is bad for you so I'll code that in to the DNA and try it out on a few unlucky creations!

And you are so tangibly close, but unwilling to take the next logical step; the designer DID come up with this wild variety, and tested them out in the real world. And took those that were fit, and survived, and subjected them to more variation, and those who fit and survived that round were even more elegant.

By those same tiny steps a vaguely light-sensitive patch on the skin can move, step by step, usefulness to usefulness (there are many organisms alive today that can sense only light and shadow, or who have just a generalized sense of light, or who have eyes that do not focus, or who have eyes that do not turn), you arrive, in a few examples, with organs we can describe as eyes.

Which include the very different insect eye, animal eye, and octopoid eye; each arrived at differently, each structurally different, each showing that it was a completely new draft with no particular reference to the others.

Same for the wings of birds, bats, and insects, which besides allowing flight and being described as wings, are structurally and functionally unique.

Look at something as complex as the human eye. It works perfectly as a means of sensory information entering the body, and being processes, then stored by the body.

If you think the human eye is perfected, I have an opthamologist to introduce you to.

Me, I would love to have a tapetum lucidum. I do a lot of work in low light conditions, and a domestic house cat has me totally beat in that environment.

I also wonder, if this same intelligence put the planets in the sky, why he/she/it/them didn't give us humans just a bit more angular resolution; enough where we could actually tell those lights in the sky were different than the stars (that is, aside from the moving, and the not-twinkling part.) What a callous creator, to put something as lovely as Saturn out there, but require we add an artificial eye of at least 60 cm in diameter to see it!

Look at all the creatures in nature - if evolution was how we arrived where we are today, there would be millions of other species still 'evolving'.

They do. At that same rate of change that took them millions of years to get where they are. If it takes ten million years to get from a small mammal with clumped toes to a horse, are you surprised that in a few thousand years of domestication none of those horses have grown wings yet?
 Quoting: nomuse (NLI) 614371

You both make it sound like we are all done with this lil project called life.
I like to look at it like this.

We have computers and they have changed do to a intelligent designer. We have gone from a computer the size of a very very large room down to a ipod in less than 60 years. Maybe this is also how god works. Maybe we are at the mid point of what is to come? All I know is that people are changing right NOW! something is up on this planet. It's like humans are being upgraded.

Before you can say who is right on this topic you have to first find out WHAT LIVE IS. Last time I check know one had a clue as to the WHY of life. I feel it's to see what we see to observer it all. To learn and teach. It's not over yet. this isn't the climax. This is one of many more steps that we will have to live through and love through.

DNA is about to change us all.

upgrade upgrade!!

Re: Evolution is impossible
If I take a bunch of marbles and set them on a piece of plywood in the trunk of my car,

then I get in my car and drive 10 miles through a mountain pass,

what happens to the marbles?

Will they all come together to form a nice neat pattern by random chance?

Or, will they simply spill over the place in chaos?

*

Now, after my excursion through the mountain pass,

I and some other people could open the trunk and look at the marbles,

One might say, "I see a tree! See the trunk and leaves?"

The next might say, "I see a building, it looks like a skyscraper!"

The next might say, "You are both wrong! I see a bird! See the beak and wings?"

I might say,

"It looks to me like a bunch of marbles spilled all over the place."

etc. etc. etc.
