Things would be easier for you guys if you realize that it is in the interests of the "thing" called the us government to do a few basic things: create an environment where it's self-replication resource generators (aka citizens) are created (hence anti-abortion cannot be govt funded/why the government thinks it "owns" your offspring), kept productive (why they are anti-drugs, for example) and monitored (using facebook gives them better intel then the old style of running PROMIS on the phone records).

To us, it's personal. To them, it's just good business. When you don't fuck up the business, you get left alone.

Not that it's right, it's just the way it is.

If the cows stay away from the electric fence, they don't get shocked. Or, like how a pimp can't let his bitches get out of pocket or they get slapped.

The solution, of course, is in making local governments strong and national ones weak, but that fucks up the "economies of scale and scope". But really most people don't want to be involved enough (worldwide problem) to make local governments the real power-base.
