Re: ASTEROID FLYBY ONLY 0,2 LD
On March 18, 2004, LINEAR announced a 30 meter asteroid 2004 FH, which would pass the Earth that day at only 42,600 km (26,500 miles), about one-tenth the distance to the moon, and the closest miss ever noticed. They estimated that similar sized asteroids come as close about every two years[31].

On March 31, 2004, two weeks after 2004 FH, meteoroid 2004 FU162 set a new record for closest recorded approach, passing Earth only 6,500 km (4,000 miles) away (nearly one-sixtieth of the distance to the Moon). Because it was very small (6 meters/20 feet), FU162 was detected only hours before its closest approach. If it had collided with Earth, it probably would have harmlessly disintegrated in the atmosphere.

Re: ASTEROID FLYBY ONLY 0,2 LD
Asteroids don't EXIST, or the "sunshine" would reflect off them like the "sunshine" reflects off the Moon, lol, the sunshine would light up the Asteroid Belt, but the "sunshine" doesn't reflect the obvious, the obvious, the obvious.

The asteroid belt would reflect the "sunshine" regardless if we see the asteroids the size of small planets or a cluster of tiny particle-looking asteroids, either way the "sunshine" would reflect off the asteroid belt and be seen on EARTH, with, or without a telescope!!!!

[link to upload.wikimedia.org]

"How many asteroids are there?"

26 very large asteroids have been discovered, which is probably most of the big ones. But there are still millions of smaller ones that we have yet to see because they are too tiny, only a mile or so across.

[link to www.kidsastronomy.com]

Still millions of smaller ones only a mile or so across. Making the belt millions of tiny reflections all clustered up together millions of miles across.

The Inverse Law would allow that reflection to be seen right here on earth. (S) represents the little "spec" of the sun's light reflecting inversely back to EARTH.

that's cool!!

start and new thread and talk about it!!

we are going to talk about the facts

Yes, carry on, its Sunday, along with other people discussing other fictional facts.

so the pictures JPL has on file are made up!!!

are you kidding are what!

you don't believe in space rocks flying through space!!

they do reflect the sun light!!

that is the mag scale of 1 to 28

are u a bubba or just stupid or just pulling my leg???

ice
 Quoting: Ice

Don't be such a twig!

The Asteroid BELT runs MILLIONS of MILES, we would see an illuminated BELT running MILLIONS of MILES in our night skies cutting through the darkness. The Inverse Square law would assure that the reflection would be seen spread across, and for an observe standing on EARTH a clear distinction would be made if it only EXISTED!!!!

We don't see the BELT.

The sun's light reflecting off the ASTEROID BELT inversely back to EARTH should be seen squarely in our skies.

Now get back to your fictional Sunday facts!!!!

if this is tunguska-sized, tunguska exploded in the atmosphere with the force of 1000 hiroshima bombs and felled 10,000,000 trees over a 20-mile radius. remarkably, though, trees immediately underneath the explosion survived.

This site is all about three major events that are going to hit in the near future.
#1 - The massive US West Coast Earthquake/Tsunami to hit September 2010
#2 - WW3 on America soil and the invasion of the US by Russia, China, Nicaragua, Mexico, Cuba and Venesuela to follow

Re: ASTEROID FLYBY ONLY 0,2 LD
mass and speed

I don't have the complete facts!!

amazing how the JPL sites put up numbers in codes

of course the people in the know and I assure you I am not in the know can do the math!

UP I am sure can figure it out!!

but

small and hard is a problem. throw a small rock very fast into a swimming pool and look at the effect

if a small but hard object hit the earth anywhere on this water planet the waves caused by this event would be a Major problem!!!

they are not going to give us any more details

like has been posted this happens often but I think this size and speed of this one is a concern and we can all just hope we are being told the facts and it does miss!!!!

If it misses no one knows or cares!!

If it hits it will be without warning a effect large area of the planet!!!
