Quoting: Anonymous Coward 488514"not trying to be a one up sob" thats like a woman saying "im not trying to be a bitch......but......." mission accomplished asshole Im thinking abot a 1100 though i have never heard anything bad about them Dozens of them. Armed to the teeth. I'm outnumbered. Outgunned. But the alley is crooked, dark, and very narrow. They can't surround me. Sometimes you can beat the odds with a careful choice of where to fight. Okie User ID: 447203 United States 03/07/2009 11:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My dad gave me a 12 guage Browning A5 for my 12th birthday (which admittedly was 33 years ago) that matched what he carried quail hunting. It was a heck of an upgrade from my single shot .410 or his old Ithaca 12 guage pump I had been using. I've killed a lot of birds with that gun over the years, and it still works and feels like the day I got it. And except for a few little nicks here and there, she still looks beautiful too. Have taken real good care of it though too, and still prize it. Back then anyway, Browning was the best. I'm sure there's arguments now with the title probably going to Bennelli, but I wouldn't trade this A5 for anything. |

Buddy of mine had one of those A5's and I shot it several times...nice shotgun...never jammed, seemed pretty fast too...pointed great. Remington 1100 has a real good history...tons of after market parts for those...pistol grip stocks...mag extensions, you can pretty much make one into just about any configuration you want. ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here. It's 5 years ago and the Saigas are just being imported. You don't know anything about them and you can't find larger than 5 round mags for the things. So you TURN DOWN the offer to buy 2 of them for $400 from a local pawnshop that was desperate to get rid of the "Commie pieces of junk". And at that price, you gotta figure...pieces of crap. So you don't buy it. Then you kick yourself when you see the price shoot to $550 a piece for them on the auction sites. I'm speaking rhetorically of course. I stand corrected. Are you shouting? Yes, mentally. Also, Saigas are really expensive for what they are, but I think I would prefer them a little bit over other semi-auto shotties. However, when I use a shotgun I want something extremly reliable which is why I use a pump. Obviously I can't take down 30 guys in a second with it, but I can be sure that it doesn't have mechanical failure like a semi-auto. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 561475Someone I knew a few years ago had lived in South Africa back in "the old days" and he said that the security forces there preferred semi autos, which seemed odd to me. He said that they preferred them for a variety of reason. One, you can operate a semi auto one handed, which worked well for them when they were using walkie talkies or if they got injured. Also, when you are ONLY concerned with aiming..and not aiming and racking the pump action...they claimed your aiming was marginally better. And because, taken all together, you usually suffered more stoppages from short stroking a pump action and other reasons than jams that happened with semi autos. Controversial I'm sure, but that is what he told me. Piter De Vries: It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.
