My dad gave me a 12 guage Browning A5 for my 12th birthday (which admittedly was 33 years ago) that matched what he carried quail hunting. It was a heck of an upgrade from my single shot .410 or his old Ithaca 12 guage pump I had been using.

I've killed a lot of birds with that gun over the years, and it still works and feels like the day I got it. And except for a few little nicks here and there, she still looks beautiful too. Have taken real good care of it though too, and still prize it.

Back then anyway, Browning was the best. I'm sure there's arguments now with the title probably going to Bennelli, but I wouldn't trade this A5 for anything.

Buddy of mine had one of those A5's and I shot it several times...nice shotgun...never jammed, seemed pretty fast too...pointed great. Remington 1100 has a real good history...tons of after market parts for those...pistol grip stocks...mag extensions, you can pretty much make one into just about any configuration you want.
